Cup RACE thread --- Charlotte Roval

I can agree. Some Chase fans piss me off. Same with some Jr fans back when he was racing. I try my best to be a good fan of these drivers, I slip sometimes but I like to think I’m one of the good ones
It's all good. My MO to catastrophize and bitch. Remember when Truex was my sworn enemy?

It's just part of being a fan. Get emotional and piss people off. It'd be boring otherwise lol

That might have worked a bit better if Byron didn't wipe himself out following Reddick.
That was funny. Felt bad for Byron but I laughed at that wreck.

Yeah we all can be a bit emotionally invested in our drivers sometimes for sure haha

Don't think this was posted.

If you don't like Reddick, do you have a soul?

Not sure what Byron is upset about there. While he did get the boot, circumstances didnt take him out of contention. He had his chance at Reddick and was clearly outclassed, then wiped himself out.

If nothing else, that’s why I respect the heck out of his posts. He’s here in the fire of it. Posting in the moment.

His own teammate, who wasn't in a must win scenario, punted him and forced him to blow the chicane earlier and that guy went on to win and Byron's not mad about that.

🤡

I know you keep saying that, but they haven't moved the finish line :idunno: :idunno:
I know you’re trolling me, but I respect the hell out of it because you post with us in the moment. I agree. The record books won’t carry asterisks.

it ain't no troll, I don't know how many races are won or lost in the last five laps, and the car out front isn't guaranteed. Chase even wasn't dominating this race he led a whole 2 laps to Byron's 30 :idunno: It's great to be a fan, but damn when it clouds one judgement so badly that they begin to sound like the gerbils, we are going to have to start calling in First Aid.

I get it, you weren’t watching scoring. He was .5-.7 seconds a lap faster before Harv went full Harv. But anything could have happened. Knowing his luck, there would’ve been a late restart he would have muffed. We’ll never know.

Chris damn Buescher trying to keep his job at Roush/Kez for 3rd :punkrocke. Wouldn't give a plug nickel for C.Bell in 8th. Every time I saw him he was off track, great rally

Trackhouse and 23XI with solid performances today.

Always feels good to see those two doing well. Bubba was shouting, cussing. Then calmed down and got on the wheel, dude can be a mess on the radio at times.. Suarez HATED his car after the first stage as well.

Are you saying race manipulation should be warmly accepted?

I'm saying that it has been going on forever and is nothing new. Sometimes it's subtle, sometimes it's not. It happens in other sports too. Ask the Oakland/LA/Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders..........

Are you a fan of nascar letting the 9 stay on the track while he was clearly shedding sheet metal?
What NASCAR did was what stick and ball sports call "swallowing the whistle". I think in playoff situations, NASCAR would rather let situations play out naturally and try not to get involved until they have to. It is a known fact that they try VERY hard not to throw judgemnt call cautions during green flag pit cycles. That piece of bodywork was hanging off there for a LONG time, and it's certainly possible that it would stay on until the next pit stop or fly off in an area that doesn't matter. If NASCAR would modify their stupid ass damaged vehicle policy and let the teams actually FIX the cars instead of duct taping them back together, this wouldn't even be an issue.

Yes, it was a BS call to let the golden child remain relevant.

Uh, two things there. First Byron and Elliott were on totally different pit strategies, which may have had an effect on laps led, and many of the laps Byron led were after Chase got wiped out. Context matters.

Going to have a hard time convincing me of a driver who led two laps being a shoe in for winning a race at the Roval, pit this or that strategies
