Logano's Move

One thing you are forgetting is that fans are rationalizing it one way and Joey completely a different way. Think about this if you are the 22:

You have no wins this year. You aren't locked in. Byron is.
You have the faster car all day.
The only way Byron can beat you is on the restart where the 22 has been a rocket all day long.
Byron to do so gives you zero room even makes minor contact to take the lead.
The 22 clearly feels that was intentional (probably was so Byron could take the lead lol).
With 2 laps left you can pass clean for sure and risk the 24 making a major move that wrecks you and you don't win, thus not locked in.
You do the safest thing possible that served two points...you move him out of the way to one prove a point, two cross the finish line in the safest way imaginable and secure a spot in the playoffs.

Stop thinking about the situation in a biased anti-Joey FAN perspective and see it from the driver's point of view. Since playoff racing started this is becoming more and more normal. The stakes are too high. Blame NASCAR, not the driver's.
Are you sure you’re not looking at it in a bias Joey fan perspective?? Cause I mean, if you can say someone is only saying it because they are anti Joey, as a Joey fan it can be said you only see it this way because you’re a fan.

Logano said in the clip above that Byron hit him in turn two and at the same time Byron drove him into the wall on the right side.
I know I would be upset by accident or not if a driver drove me into the wall with potential damage to both sides at the same time when I have the preferred lane and the lead in the race and have led a total of 33 laps this year.
Logano said that is why Byron slowed down and moved down, he knew it was coming

Joey is assuming Byron squeezing him into the wall was deliberate, and he's also assuming Byron "knew it was coming" although his car was clearly falling off.

That's a lot of assumptions.

Logano wasn't thinking about pay back there. He was strictly going for the win, & was gonna do anything to get it done. Is there more that needs to be said?
He wasn’t thinking about payback? So you’re saying he used what happened before hand as an excuse?

Nashville Fairgrounds....the night before

Yep. Byron moved him, but he didn’t flat out wreck him. That’s how you do a bump and run. Joey is nothing more than a petulant child.

I 100% believe he's using it as an excuse. Anything to lessen the blow in the eyes of the fans. He keeps saying that Byron got him in the wall, but it is apparent that the contact with the wall was minimal since Logano was able to catch him.

The funniest thing is that Logano easily would've beaten Byron fair & square. Byron was significantly slower. We were robbed of a fantastic finish. Oh well.

If you ask Joey what happened on the last lap and then ask Willy, you’re prolly gonna get two different opinions. Just like we’re seeing in this made for drama thread. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I saw the same thing, Byron's car was falling apart quickly. The rate of closure was insane. No alibi for Logano, because I think he meant to move him, but he misjudged how slow Byron was going and his nudge turned into a dump.
Funniest post I have ever read. Logano did exactly what he intended to do....and 100% he would have done the same damn thing had William given him all the room in the world on the restart. This is how he races, and we have seen it time and again.

No, nothing else needs to be said. Don't know why Joey was looking for excuses. He typically doesn't.

Oh that's right, since Kyle can't find victory lane you jumped off of that horse, not that we miss the constant Kyle fan boy accolades
Didn't jump off the horse. My favorite Toyota driver is the last one to win, and my second favorite is the next one to win. Fact is that Kyle hasn't been winning as much as he once did....but rest assured, however, once he starts exploiting the massive engine advantage WE give him, and dominates, I will be here to take up residence in your head once again. Lots of space, and the rent is cheap. While you are up, what do you say you get me a beer, and not that cheap **** you usually drink?

Yep not having to listen to your constant bragging about ol Kyle has been a blessing lol.

Enjoy it while it lasts. Won't be long.
I'm still laughing about posting the starting grid and I said Boom Logano, and you popped off and went Boom 4 yotas in the top 5 lol. Where did those guys finish anyway? lol.

Just stating the facts. They were fast as hell. WE got caught up in other people's ****...racing happens. I can live with it. Four in the top six actually, but I know that counting can be a challenge.

Well that helps a bit to cushion the blow, 4 in the top 6. I would count it too if I were you. I think one of them was in the top 6 when the smoke cleared. Easy to get wrecked running in the rear.

Makes for great racing IMO. Much better than listening to fans whine about the track or the cars, or whatever they can find to complain about.
100% agree. I’m as biased as anyone but this **** is great for the sport and I love it. Plus, the race went long and those tuning in for (soccer?) may have watched that and thought this is pretty cool!

WE are running very well. I have no worries.

The more I thought about this Joey vs Byron thing it reminded me of what happened in the Myrtle Beach 400 some years ago. Cant remember why but somehow Charles Powell III ( 4 Time MB Speedway Track Champ) and Joe Gaita ( a hot shoe out of VA) failed to qualify on time and had to run the last chance race with only the winner advancing. Powell was on pole and Gaita outside. Powell led all the way to the white flag but going into 1 Gaita caught him in the left rear and ran him up the race track and took the lead. Powell gathered it up and by the time they got to turn 3 he caught him and knocked Joe up the race track and came off 4 took the Checkered flag. Gaita's people were hot and everybody went to Joe Collins who is the NASCAR Race control director for the All Pro series and asked " are you gonna let that stand" Collins raised his hand and said with a loud voice so everyone could hear " you live by the sword, you die by the sword"! I talked to Charles and told him he didnt do anything wrong and not to worry about it and he looked at me and said Gaita didnt do anything wrong either, except he did it in the wrong corner. Good times man! lol

What are you talking about? He said himself in the interview at the start finish line that it was payback!
He already answered this. He thinks Joey just used that as a reason to do it. Basically using something that wasn’t a huge deal as an excuse to get a dirty win.

Man, I miss that event. They could pack some racing into a weekend.
No doubt. Mini stock, Limited Late models , Trucks and Late Models and paying good money. Back in the late 90's and early 2000's over 100 late models would show up.

How do we know who the "true" William is? What we see is just the TV face, we have no idea what he's actually like
Agreed....and at the risk of derailing the thread....same goes for KFB or any driver--they are a brand. I have always said that.

Not sure if it was the crew chief or the spotter, but someone was in Joey's ear quite often in the last few laps reminding him of Byron putting him in the wall and what to do when he caught him. So I would disagree with the theory that he didn't think it was a big deal and payback was he main motive in the hit. He had a much faster car at the time and could have easily passed him cleanly and drove away.
