I love that guy. So, gotta feel for him.

Thanks man. I have been with MY Toyotas through thick and thin.....just another test.

I mean in the grand scheme of the season, it is what it is.

I actually feel a bit bad for Denny. Set a record, shared it with his daughter, and now it was taken away and the internet laughs.

I'm not fond of some of NASCAR's shifts through the years, but this is one area in which they have unequivocally changed for the better. Even when the new rules regarding DQing and changing a race winner were announced, many doubted it would actually occur. This is how it should have always been, period, no excuses or rationalizations.

What happens if they win the appeal? ... I assume someone should get fired.

Gloating isn't the worst in people.....It's part of the fun. Irritating sometimes, but part of the fun for some. Bigotry, hatred, discrimination......which have all been part of this sport unfortunately are the worst qualities of fans.....gaining on that I think.

Well, I was always taught to win with class and lose with dignity when I was participating in sports, so I try to keep the same attitude as a fan. I could make fun of JGR and Toyota all I want and maybe enjoy it, but it's not like HMS are a bunch of virgins in this regard. I'd prefer to not be a hypocrite about it.

eh B.S. this was intentional cheating. Kez got docked like 50 points and I believe fined also and he didn't win a race

With them being in the playoffs already it’s harder to give them a punitive points punishment besides the playoff points associated with it. I’m surprised there’s no fine or suspensions coming though?

Looking at the penalty chart I actually don’t know why more playoff points or anything else wouldn’t be on the table. Unless an immediate post-race DQ means only that, compared to one found back at the tech center.

Ehh, I maybe feel slightly bad for him, too, but he's obviously a big boy who has plenty of wins already and most likely isn't done winning. To his credit, he seems to be taking it all in stride. As I said yesterday, I truly feel bad for his poor daughter Taylor. That little girl got robbed, and that's not funny to me at all.

On the positive side, I don't think Denny and his team could possibly have better motivation to go out there and get themselves another win.

Being that it was caught on more than 1 car I don't think you can use the excuse that it was a mistake or unintentional. I want to think that they'll drop the hammer on them but somehow JGR miraculously has a way of getting out of things like this.

Yeah. If they really looked over the 9 with a fine toothed comb, I'm sure they'd find something.

The race had similar numbers to the old car in 2021. 14 lead changes among 10 leaders. The same amount of cautions 9

Wow! Been a loooonnnnnggggg time since we saw this happen! Seems pretty clear-cut, doubt TRD or JGR could be seriously pissed.

Imagine if this inspection technology and these rules were in place for the Knaus/Johnson years. They'd also probably be at win #48 like Denny 🤣🤣🤣

NASCAR doesn't remove wrap in pre-race inspection. AFTER the race, certain sections of wrap are removed.
Since the material was found UNDER the wrap, says to me that there was serious intent to hide it.

Makes sense

"Lets bow our heads....thank you Lord for throwing out
the dirty rotten cheats. All the glory is yours - Amen"

I hear you, but I see it differently. Sport is a place to let it hang out if you so should choose IMO. Whatever that looks like. I like end zone dances....trash talking on the court, and changing the mound. HOWEVER, in the arena of real life.....DO NOT EVER rip into a waiter or waitress in my presence......DO NOT EVER call someone a name. DO NOT EVER lay your hands on somebody unless it is self-defense. DO NOT EVER think you are better than anybody else. My two cents.

I'm a Ross partisan, and I think he had plenty of room to recover from that nudge.
I agree. All day long, drivers got too high exiting turn 1, either on their own or pushed up there by traffic. They had to lift to stay off the wall, and they'd lose four or five places before regaining momentum. Hamlin gave Ross a little help getting up there too high, but Ross made the choice not to lift. Wrong choice. I thought it was an elegant, deftly executed example of payback. And I say that as a Chastain partisan.

Regarding Bondo Joe... I'm disappointed to see that Next Gen car preparation practices apparently have not embraced the practical imperatives of the new business model that team owners lobbied for so ardently. With spec chassis and spec bodies that cannot be "massaged," the owners have substantial cost benefits that are intended to fundamentally alter the economics of team ownership. If the prevailing attitude is as @Revman says it is ("We cheated, we got caught, we'll take our medicine and cheat smarter next week"), then this spec-based business model will fail.

When spec parts are mandated, there will always be large performance gains to be had by "improving" the spec parts. Of course there will always be gray areas that are subject to creative interpretations... but this is not such a case. Adding foreign material to the nose of the car, under the wrap to hide it, is not a creative interpretation, it's flat out cheating.

Do we want to return to the era when only about three teams could afford to keep up? Goodbye Trackhose, goodbye 23XI, goodbye Kaulig and Petty GMS, goodbye Childress and Front Row... only TRD and HMS and maybe Penske or SHR can run up front... is that what @Revman wants? Not what I want,,

That's definitely one way to put it... ;)
Well, I see it that way. Toyota is MY team. Whatever they do, they remain MY team. This tests that, of course....but I don't waver. Not even a bit. Some babblers question my loyalty. This is what a fan is...thick and thin.....and this is very, very thin in my world. I am pissed and disappointed.

Do not misquote me damn it. I said NOTHING about cheating smarter next week. NOTHING. Don't make **** up to support your narrative. I am pissed and deeply disappointed in what has happened here. A team that represents my manufacturer has let me down. If this is as it appears, I would expect and appreciate a conversation with JGR that sounds a lot like the conversation Lee White had with Mikey over rocket fuel....You pull this again, and we are done. I'd rather run last than deal with this ****.

What I want from the sport in terms of manufacturer individuality doesn't matter. This is a spec body--kind of--series now. Play by the damn rules.
