PRIME broadcast: now that’s a winner!

All advertisers care about is the P18-49 demographic, because that's who most ads are aimed at, that got 800,000 viewers, which is more than any race since 2022. Where it got less viewers overall than last years 600, which yes I understand can be a bad thing, the viewers that people that any company cares about for ads, that was up. Which means Prime overtime will be able to sell that ad space for a higher price.
I understand your concern for billionaires doing well. But once again I was concerned with the loss of viewership that yet another media provider would entail. So far that is what happened. Maybe next week it will be better.

I don't give a **** about billionaires lmao, I just was giving you the facts that Prime will be happy with the numbers, the people who bought ad space will be happy with the numbers. From that stand point, it is doing great. Sorry that a broadcast was better than Fox, I know that really upsets you.

Why do you care how many people watch? Does that make it less enjoyable for you? :XXROFL:

Did you enjoy the broadcast? Did you enjoy the race?

If so, who gives a **** how many people watched?

SOI wants every single race on FS1. He’s never said anything good about a broadcast on anything but Fox Sports.

Okay, why do viewer numbers concern you?

The advertisers care about which easily-influenced demographics they reach. They don't want 3 million of us over-55s who sit on our wallets and aren't moved by ads.

NASCAR cares only the checks from Prime and the other partners clear the bank. As long as that happens, they'll pay teams and tracks.

So if everyone in the food chain is happy, why are you concerned?

What it sounds like to me is that you people are crying because everybody doesn't agree with your assessments. Once again months ago when yet another TV subscription was added to Cup racing I mentioned I had concerns that flipping subscriptions COULD lose viewers. I could care less about the TV nerd stuff about this age group or that age group. You people go back to your graphics, cameras shots and gerbil love.

I might agree with your assessment if you'd explain why you're concerned. You've said repeatedly that you're concerned with 'loss of viewership' but you haven't said WHY it concerns you. I'll ask a second time and then leave it alone.

It all boils down to he loves Fox, so he's finding anything to hate about anything else. He won't admit it, that's why he's dodging the questions. I'm sure someone will come along and defend him. Like always.

If Cup races are getting 100 viewers or 100 million viewers it really makes no difference to me, I’ll be tuning in regardless. Of course I’d like the sport to do well and for business purposes it is important, but at the end of the day how does it affect my viewing experience?

I was skeptical of Prime when it was first announced it was coming to NASCAR, but if they keep up what they brought last week I’d have no problem with them carrying 36 races a year.

Might even send Bezos a check as a tip for his hard work, I need to make sure he’s doing well!

Barney Hall with MRN was the GOAT imo.

The broadcast is OK, I don't think I love it as much as some do, but the bar set by their competitors is pretty low. I HATE their fast forward mode though on the screen. As awful as I've encountered.

Yeah, the fast forward part can definitely use some work. Probably the only complaint I have tbh.

The broadcast is good, I like the desk after the race and the ambiance it provides. Makes the race look like a classy big deal. The in-car shot of a driver and the graphic picture of the driver while the race is in a tiny window top right is terrible. I'll never like three booth monkeys, sometimes 4 if it is NBC, fighting over who gets to talk no matter who is broadcasting the race. Two is plenty.

Hate it. Hate signing in, hate having to wade through the other shows, hate how the FF/Rew works (or arguably doesn’t), just not a fan. Coverage is fine except Jr. seems WAY to animated. Wife says I’m lucky because she shops so much….🙄
Pretty clunky. I like to tune in early, get over on the computer setting up other things until the race comes on. With streaming that hasn't been possible, nothing happens until the event comes on so you have to keep an eye on the clock or you miss the start.
When clunking thru the sign in screens, once every couple of months I have to jump thru the Youtube hoops in order for to get it to work. I have to type/transfer codes on my TV to my computer, clear out all of my security software on the computer before it will take the codes and let me a paying ass customer in for the TV to work. On top of that, it switches my computer's Youtube channel to another one I have that I don't use so I have to log on the computer and switch it back to the one I use. About 5 minutes of B.S. worth lol.

It is the worst FF button I’ve ever used too. It also didn’t want to resume where I left off. Most people seem very pleased with what Prime brought to the table though so that is good.

Some of the things people liked about the broadcast don’t matter to me. I don’t watch any of the after race stuff unless there is a first time winner. When the broadcast goes split screen for a commercial I FF until the race is the only thing on. The broadcast booth is not that important to me as most of the time they aren’t adding a ton of value for me. I tend to trust what my eyes see.

I must be the only one who doesn't mind it. Tap the Ff 18 or 20 times and you're past the commercial break. Maybe I don't have experience with the FF feature on other systems.

Sometimes I just wanna skip more than that if I'm watching later, and you can't see what you're skipping over. Like today was watching with my dad and around 65 to go he was getting tired, so I tried to get to around 30 to go to speed it up, but I had to just skip a few at a time to make sure we didn't miss any cautions.

I watched the race in two sessions, but darned if I remember how I FF'ed to the end of the second stage. I don't remember if I did it accurately or had to jump around. I usually watch races live so I don't think this is going to be a long-term problem for me.

I did the 10 seconds skip and just hit it a few times. Sadly if I want to watch with my dad, sometimes can't really watch it live. He has to have sleep to work at night.

I’m not understanding the “sign-in” that everyone is talking about. It’s basically three or four quick clicks from the remote and the race is on. No signing in.
I recall it's a one-time thing per device. If you already have an Amazon account without Prime, Prime will use the same email address and password.

Some devices are easier than others.

Roku made me type in my email and password and signs me out of apps every week. Apple TV, I sign in from my phone and stay logged in.

With my cable TV package I hit the OH ENN OH EFF EFF button on the remote control and I'm off to the races. :dirtbike:

Clunky is a VERY good word for it. We’re lucky enough to have a smart tv that stays signed in to Prime, Paramount, and Netflix but sometimes (and it’s always when I’m really anxious to watch something NOW) we get kicked off. But the FF/Rew debacle SUCKS when you’re trying to find specific places in the race.

How about more of this instead of the fast talking gerbils telling us to look into the eyes of Hamlin while he is sitting there driving the car. #notimpressed
