Race pics and experiences

High of 75-80 all weekend in Sonoma. Perfect. 24 hours from jumping on a plane. Let's go! I can be the one of the biggest pains in the ass on this board, but it would be my hope that everybody gets this excited to go to the track. There are fun things that come and go in my life, but the one thing that is constant is how much I love this sport. It's ridiculous....I couldn't sleep last night I am so jacked up. This is what competition should be. The adrenaline rush of the potential for success....days not just a couple of hours on race day. If WE don't win, will I be disappointed? Yes, but that does not diminish the rush of the lead up, and the fact that I will be blessed to witness this. Thank you to this entire board for adding to the joy!

Packed grandstand, national anthem, flyover, start your engines, pace laps and finally the green flag. ❤️

Tbh you should petition for a ride there on the Yoter jet. We'd all sign it. ;) ;) :beerbang:

Brand activation is so cool, and WE are awesome at at. Honestly, I have no clue was Ford and Chevy do because I spend no time in their spaces, but I love what WE do.

Stupid jacked up for today. Storylines everywhere....Better keep SVG close......

Great day. Nobody had nothin' for SVG. Nothing....but MY Toyotas were fast.....not enough driver on road courses just yet. SVG is a different league. That last pic is a
RAV GR Sport prototype....so cool to see it in the flesh.....might be in my garage at some point. I walk the talk.

Interesting tidbit......My son and I were driving into the track at 8:30 to see Bell. The parking attendant person stopped traffic to let a team member cross the street. I was in full blown, GET ME TO MY PARKING SPOT mode...so I was a little impatient. Guess who was crossing? SVG. At 8:30 when all of the sponsor things and appearances are going on....seemed weird that the race favorite was by himself strolling to the garage that late in the morning.

Awesome pictures. What pass/ticket do you get to get this close of access?

He was the same way at Pocono when he was going in and out of the media center, while the few other drivers I saw had a handler with them.

Also, my fiancé taps me and goes "look how much bigger his right calf is compared to his left". The right was noticeably bigger!

We were leaving Darlington back in the late '90s. People on the main road were alternating with the cars leaving the infield. When we let a pickup out of the lot, Michael Waltrip rolled down the passenger window, waved, and hollered "Thank you!"

Sorry for the late reply. Standard grandstand ticket, pre-race pass, and premium parking. Love Sonoma.

Any advice on where to sit at the Glenn?
I've only been once to Watkins Glen but I would offer my standard advice...if it's your first time at the road course and you're on a budget, get a GA ticket and move around. If you find a spot you like stay there. If no budget, get a seat in a section that is a passing zone and walk the track and then decide from where where to watch.

Enjoyed my "weekend" at Portland. The ARCA drivers put on a much better race than the past as they behaved themselves in the chicane.

Xfinity race was amazing to watch how good Connor Zilisch is and how many cars mid-pack were nose to tail most of the race with clean passes being done in the chicane.

Decided to brave the time spent standing in line for the autograph session. Only 150 wrist bands were handed out so had to get there early and wait but I got in. Drivers were friendly and had smiles and I thanked every one of them.

I'd like to know why Austin Hill, Sheldon Creed and Jesse Love weren't there. I believe there were a couple of others not present. Had to be quite a few disappointed fans.

To follow up on my post above, I got 20 driver autographs out of 37 entries in the race. A sad showing from NASCAR and the drivers toward their fans.

This past Sunday at Loudon was the most fun experience I’ve had a track yet. Little back story, about two years ago I started listening to a podcast called “Loose is Fast”. A nascar podcast made up of 3 regular nascar loving friends who started a podcast as a way to hangout once a week and talk NASCAR together. Low budget, not really produced and just a laid back 2-3 hour discussion once a week. I suggest giving it a listen.

All 3 guys are from NH and this is their home track. Through their discord I became friendly with them and got tickets in their group and was invited to their tailgate.

Fiancé and I decided to make it a weekend getaway. We got up to Concord Friday afternoon, checked in and took the 15 minute drive to the track to get merch, watch truck qualifying and just hang out at the track.

Saturday we did some basic tourist stuff and went to a fancy dinner and dessert in the concord area.

Sunday morning we met up with the podcast guys and their crew in concord and caravaned to the track together. 60 mph on the shoulder (open to race traffic) and sipping coffee in a 15 car caravan wasn’t on my bingo card but adventurous none the less. Tailgated from one of the parking lots from about 10-1230 and had a great time with a bunch of “strangers” just excited to be there and go to the race.

Then hit the fan zone and into the track. Watched the anthem and start your engines from the fence, always one of my favorite parts of the day. We watched the first stage from our seats. Went to get food, wander around the merch haulers and finish watching stage 2 from the railing. Around this time got bombarded with texts about the Eagles having a miraculous comeback win so that was a cherry on top.

22 is my favorite driver and the 12 is my fiancés favorite driver and my second favorite driver. By stage 3 it was pretty apparent one of those two had a very very good chance at winning the race so we decided to watch all of stage three from the railing. Moving closer and closer to the finish line as the stage went on. By the end of the stage we were dang close to the SFL and got to see Blaney take home the victory. Fiancé was ecstatic, I was in my happy place and it was a great way to end the race. Watched Blaneys whole post race interview and none burn out (boooo) before speed walking back to our car and getting out of the track without hitting much traffic.

What a day.
