Watkins Glen in the rain

Not according to Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone. He want's sprinklers on the track to make F1 MORE exciting.

LOL Yeah, I heard that! What a maroon...

And you are right, VaDirt. F1 races can be more exciting when weather plays a part in race day strategy. But I like to see the cars performing at their peak and you can't get that on a wet track.

Okay, so the rain looks like it's got two hours left. The latest they can start this race is 5:30pm which means they need it to quit raining by 3:30 or 4pm.

This race ain't happening today.

You don't get that with Steve Wallace in dry weather either, but he's still exciting to watch. :D

True Dat!

I loved it when Blinky caused that big wreck while Crusty was broadcasting the race. "Uh, I need to see another replay!". Too effen funny...

Rain should start tapering off over the next half hour. If it stops by 4, we will race tonight.

I hope so. I don't want to watch no "let's hurry up and race and get the hell outta here", non-barnburner, type race on Monday.;)

Teams lining up on pit road to push their equipment back to the garage when the call is given. This will be the second postponement of a NSCS Watkins Glen race in three years.

The weather may move off.

They will try like Hell to get half today instead of Tuesday.

Per NASCAR.....

Dryers on track, looking at about 1:45 or more to dry. Average time of this event is 2:22. Could run to approx 8:00-8:10

Don't think that will happen. ;)

are the DP's still there? NASCAR owns Grand-Am, lets park the tin-tops and put them in the fiberglass/carbon-tops.
