The new NASCAR.com coming January 1st

Bump:

Dear
Thank you for being a TrackPass subscriber. Due to the recent re-launch of NASCAR.com we wanted to take this opportunity to notify you of important changes to the TrackPass offering. Effective January 2013, the TrackPass Products that previously included RaceView, RaceView 360, PitCommand and Scanner will simply be known as RaceView. Scanner customers will receive a RaceView Audio subscription, with all other customers receiving RaceView Premium.
RaceView Audio remains unchanged from the Scanner product. RaceView Premium has all of the features of RaceView 360 including virtual video, multiple camera angles, complete customization and live race data.

Your annual subscription will now be billed on a seasonal basis starting this February and will automatically renew each year. Due to the transition, you will only be billed in June for the half-season rate in 2013, which is currently $44.95 for Premium and $19.95 for Audio. There is nothing for you to do to receive this discount so you can continue to enjoy RaceView for the entire season beginning with the 2013 Sprint Unlimited, Budweiser Duels and Daytona 500!
In February of 2014, you will be automatically billed the full rate of your applicable product for that race season.
The ALL NEW NASCAR.com has been redesigned with the fan in mind. Check us out to see the new layout, features and interactive sections. To access your subscription, simply LOGIN on the NASCAR.com homepage with your existing subscription's email address and password, then click RaceView in the upper right hand corner.
If you have any questions about your subscription or wish to update your payment or contact information, please visit our customer support center
To view the RaceView subscriber agreement, please click
Sincerely,

I really hope they put the start of the first practice and Qualifying somewhere easy to find. The old site had everything right up top.

Has anyone seen any news on the pay version of the NASCAR Mobile '13 app? They've got to get this released within the next week. I'd imagine that they'd want this thing in operation by the Unlimited?

NASCAR RACEVIEW MOBILE '13, where are you? With only 5 days until the first racing action I would think they would have released some info on this app or something.

You know what else is coming soon? The racing. Like one more day. Let's get this rolled out NASCAR! What's the holdup?

It just occurred to me that the sudden influx of "some" of the new members on here could stem from the fact that the new nascar.com did away with all of the annoying chats after every article as well as the several chat rooms. Im sure someone on here (we know who) will bust my chops about this and prove me wrong beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Not being a frequent user of the particular chat sessions I considered your post a challenge. A quest if you will. A journey to seek the truth and pass that knowledge on to you in a civilized manner. Okay, who am I kidding? The chat option remains. Seriously, there is some sort of comment section after each and every article but I am not certain if that's what you are referring to. I think NASCAR is trying to push everyone to Twitter, Facebook & the like. They have that new fangled way of keeping track of all of this and are going to incorporate it into their ratings projections.

Damn you were easy on the chops DP. It is well documented that I cannot stand the new nascar.com and more and more members are starting to echo my sentiments, therefore I point out any warts nascar.com has whenever I can. :p

I took a look at their chat rooms and forums a couple of times before checking out this site. It looked like most of the topics were dead, with days or weeks between posts. Others were dominated by a few knuckle-dragging booger-eaters who make the crowd here look like the Nobel Prize selection committee.:D

The old site had a page with driver stats over the last 6 races. I liked it as a fantasy stat. The new stats page doesn't appear to have a way to display stats over a given period of races. Yeah, I can do it at Racing Reference. It's just that I have a couple of friends who preferred the old NASCAR format for this data. Can anyone else see a way to do this?

Also, it looks like the new Schedule page MAY have the qualifying and practice data that are my only other uses for the site. At least, I'm assuming that the 'NO RESULTS' entries beside practice for the Clash / Shootout / Unlimited is a placeholder that will be replaced with links to results for points-paying races. If I recall, it took NASCAR several weeks to start posting qualifying and practice scores last year. I guess we'll find out after this morning's practice sessions, although I wouldn't be surprised if they waited to start with the post-Duel practices.

I can't say that I've ever used their page to get stats before so I'm not familiar with what they had. The easiest place to get stat for fantasy pick is http://www.motorracingnetwork.com IMO. Their section called Race Center, on the main page, has the stats updated very quickly and is already broken out into a concise format. The same information is available on Racing Reference but more navigation is involved.

I installed the update to the NASCAR Android app but it won't let me sign in or pay the $25 it costs for the premium features.

I read on another forum that the Android version won't be available for another week. They said that it was available for the iPhone now. I don't know if that is true or not. Frankly, I don't understand the delay. Android sales far exceed it's closest competitor.

I've read that the iOS developer platform is more developer friendly in terms of how easy it is to produce a polished app.

Well, I guess if it's far from functional then I'm willing to wait before I shell out any $'s on this thing. I'm looking forward to being able to use this @ the track rather than carrying in my scanners.

My mobile app just received an update. It is now prompting me to move to the new version.

There is an option in the upper right hand corner entitled 'LIVE'. If you select that there is an option at the bottom to Upgrade Now. When selected it gives the option for the full season @ $24.99.

Also available online for Android.

I need a new phone.

I just paid $25 for the premium features. Hopefully the scanner works well and is loud enough.

Yes, please give a review on that. I'm waiting until I hear some feedback before paying. I already pay for the nascar.com options and it appears not to be working tonight.

I got audio working about halfway through the race, but would shut off when screen locked or if you tried to look at the lineup. Had to set my screen timeout to max and make sure I kept touching the screen one every 5 mins. I hope they fix this.

I'm glad they had the opportunity to treat this tonight. Hopefully it's better for the dual and that all issues will be ameliorated prior to the 500.

I'm done with the App.....pretty useless and takes a lot of time to load IMO

@NASCAR
We recognize and apologize for issues experienced on NASCAR .com tonight, particularly with Live Leaderboard, log-ins and RaceView. We are working diligently to resolve these issues before the qualifying races.

I wonder if a discount is in the works for those of us that paid for this.

Somehow I'm guessing not.

For me, the app is very fast and responsive both on 4G and wifi. Thankfully my phone was finally upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich a couple of weeks ago which probably helped things because they removed some bloat and ICS allows users to disable apps.

Ice Cream Sandwich?

What's next? Cherry on Top and Pleasure Ridges?

No, Android has had a habit of naming their mobile platforms in alphabetical order and after desserts. Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, therefor the next one will probably be Jello. :D

The J has been used... with Jelly Bean. There's also Key Lime Pie so I guess we're now at L.
