Nascar 14 - Video Game

So the game must suck

It does by what I saw.

This was either playing on easy or the AI is as dumb as a bag of potatoes. Didn't help that the guy playing is pathetic too but the behavior of the drivers are so bad.

Just see the video..

Case and point go to minute 2:56, the car in front just stops and the dude gets into the back of him. Terrible.

They'll never get it right.

Dear God. I don't play online and I HATE how easy the AI is. Getting real sick of passing half the field by myself on the back stretch of 'Dega or turn 4 of Atlanta.

Random brake-checking and they can still race at Texas like they do at Bristol apparently. Barrel into Edwards at 190 MPH twice and neither car gets out of shape. Get alongside him a lap later, rub him a bit and he shoots into the outside wall. Smdh at these guys.

:XXROFL:

I know, ****** amateurs.

Getting rammed in the ass and hardly budging isn't driving conservatively, lol.
Well I think that is a bit stupid but I know when I bumped a guy too hard at Daytona he went right up the track into the wall. It's a work in progress I think they just get the info wrong when they make the AI .. they go off lap times from races and its mis leading because we as video game players aren't going to run like its a real car that needs to make it 500 miles and if we wreck all we do is go to the end of the line. They need to just make the AI go balls out and drive like maniacs lol

If you spin out does a caution fly, or is it like the last game where you have to spin out and go backwards on the track and hit every other car just to have a caution

Well, I haven't played the game much yet, but as of right now I'm not a big fan of it. The AI at Pocono is still ridiculous compared to the other tracks, and I'm only playing at 50% difficulty. They drive impossibly hard into every turn and either blow past me or slam into me and wreck me every time. Meanwhile, on 50% at Phoenix, a track I'm not even that good at and haven't raced much, I won by over 20 seconds.

Makes sense.

It probably has something to do with drafting... the draft is part of the game so I would think they make the cars able to take a good hit in the rear without spinning out because most gamers drive like maniacs. They just need to be able to know the difference between Phoenix and Talladega

Couple rumors to share from another forum, infact the this stuff was posted on this vary games forum, up first, EA could be thinking about making a return and that Eutechnyx might 'potentially' (pending this game profit perhaps) not lose, but just give up NASCAR license...

Might be a good move for EA if they really make an effort out of it considering they lost their college football license.

Yeah, eff EA. The only two games they've done recently that I've liked are Mirror's Edge and the SSX remake. Actually, I love those two games.

But beyond that, eff them and their constant money grubbing!

I was deadly afraid when they took over one of my favorite game series of all time in Mass Effect. I thought for sure they'd screw that up but somehow managed to keep the game mechanics decent other than regenerating health. Granted they kept the original team from Bioware so that helped.

Now though they're going to milk the series, EA style.

lol They butchered some of sports series I like(d) too but we're caught between a rock and a hard place here. EA is less ****** than Eutechnyx and no one else seems to want to provide competition for the consoles.

I'm not surprised.

At least they did away with Online Passes, though they'll probably come up with some other, more dastardly and effective way to slip their hands into gamers' wallets. They can keep their grubby paws off my NASCAR games!

Finally got a copy of the game

And I should add, it looks like the EA rumor is for right now, just a rumor, there is no truth behind it, but we all know, things could change

DICE, pretty much EA, is making the new Star Wars Battlefront. They are the same people who made Battlefield so if I get a SWB that has the graphics & gameplay of Battlefield, I may not graduate college.

Do you guys think there will be an Xbox One version of a NASCAR game anytime soon?
Not this year... they say the cost of production outweighs the projected profit margin... in other words not enough people have a PS4 or Xbox One to make them think enough NASCAR players will buy the game for them to make a profit.

Personally I think that the makers of the game, Eutechnyx, realize that the door is getting ready to hit them in the a$$ on their way out of the NASCAR game business and they don't want to invest the time/$'s into development that they'll never profit from. Having played just about ever single version of NASCAR sims that have ever been produced, this one joins a long line of subpar games. Game being the key word. Get a sim out there that everyone can play.

Okay so... I meant to mention this the other day and forgot...

So I pretty much only play this game for the league, I race twice a week with a group of people.. that's it. So the other day I got an invite from one of the guys while I was playing Call of Duty and decided to go over and play in a public lobby for a Talladega race....had to wait a few minutes for the guys racing to finish but for the first time since I've been playing online we ended up with a full 16 player lobby. Race started loading.. no problem... get the setup in.. alright... everyone ready's up... ookay moving along.. loading screen... no glitches or people booted.. great.. but then........

.....the cars loaded on track and suddenly I wasn't as excited for a good race... my car was sitting in the infield facing the inside wall before pit row... there was a car in front of me pointed up toward the track and two others to the right.. one on the track but pointed down the track and slightly rolling... another facing the wall from the bottom of the track at the exit of turn 4... I start moving my camera around and behind me there are 2 cars on their roofs  and another off about 50 feet to the left that looked like he was the only car actually ready for the start, as well as other randomly placed cars all over the track and apron. I couldn't believe my eyes... I just said wow and laughed a few times before turning Call of Duty back on..... it was the most ridiculous display of terrible programming I think I've ever seen in any NASCAR game... I can't understand for the life of me what they could have missed in the code somewhere along the line that would make cars upside down... and strewn all over the infield like its the end of the race and Tony just went for the win.

Terrible... just terrible.. don't ever expect to finish a race when you start this game up.

There is no emoticon for the amount of face palm I would use to describe how much of a cluster**** it was.

Wow.

Their online play has been terrible glitchy from the get-go. If they haven't fixed it yet, it's pretty much time to call it quits.

Well its been just over a month since the game has been out. My thoughts: the cars handle a lot better on this one than previous games but that's if you can get your setup right. Game glitches and freezes more than previous. What really blows though is all the idiots online who think they can drive and cant. First when starting on the outside, you have to wait for an opening before trying to go low, a lot of folks just try to force the issue. Some people when in the lead, will get loose Comming off 2 and when another driver sticks his or her nose under them in a pass attempt, they're called a cheater and forced below the yellow. No one ever wants to work with chick drivers, whenever a girl is playing no one ever seems to want to help her in the draft. A lot of folks get pissed when they realize they're not gonna win and try to wreck the field. Sidedrafting is racing, not cheating. So then you see a lot of the games issues have to do with people playing the game as much as the developers constantly putting out a garbage product.

This guy is a pretty good troller. lol

Yeah people don't know how to drive.. aside from the glitches the game is good.. if you can get with people who know not to turn down when theres a car there.. I don't play it much now though because I really hate the glitching..

Safe to say until an American gaming company makes NASCAR games again, I'm not buying.
