Nascar 14 - Video Game

If the past product is any indication of this present one then waiting until next week should yield you a great buy grabbing one of the returns. ;)
That's what I did before.. waited a few weeks and got a used copy lol.. plus I want to see if there's people complaining and wait until the first patch comes out.

Apparently if u pit ur spotter will stop talking... and if u pit when your spotter is not talking.. u'll wreck? Cars with no window nets, no drivers no roll bars, no windows, or no sheet metal (carbon fiber) .. people are still freezing in online races, before during and after... but that could be connection issues.. the crew don't listen lol.. put on 4 tires even when u only want 2... among other things... looks like this game has just as many issues.... you knew its bad when there is a "release day patch" with the game.

As much as I've panned this game and don't plan on buying it I have yet to receive any game/sim that didn't require a 'day one' download. The most celebrated games required downloads.

That being said. This game could be flawless but the fact that it is not being produced for today's hardware is a major factor with me.

Looks like the display hub is improved.

Well at least they have a scoring display now. Other than that, the physics still look terrible (Newman gets hammered and barely gets sideways? Lol) and the AI still rubberband into a perfectly straight, compact line.

I guess the cost of producing the game for the new system exceeds the expected sales and isn't feasible financially for them to do. Makes sense to me, there isn't enough people that have bought a ps4 or xbox1 for them to be able to cover the production of it. It would cost something like 6 million to upgrade to the new software, and the projected sales apparently isn't high enough to justify it.

I wonder if every driver still does back flips after they win? Whoever was in charge of the game saw one Carl Edwards win and thought that's what all drivers do.

This could also be their last attempt at NASCAR too. Why bother upgrading to the next generation of consoles if you don't even know for sure yet whether or not you're going to continue producing games? If they were locked in for a few more years they probably would have just waited for a mid-to-late 2014 release.

Whoever is driving didn't push too hard. He stuck to the outside and went half throttle in the turns & got back to the gas way late to give off the impression of a competitive AI. even on the outside he was almost able to make 2 car passes & when he did (accidentally) dive into a turn at full speed he slammed into Newman without spinning him. I really don't care about physics, I'm just sick of NASCAR games with slow as molasses AI and the ability to get the pole even if you spin out in qualifying. I gotta go now, Forza is calling my name.

Did they ever fix pitting at Watkins Glen? Last I played it they still had you pit on the wrong side. Seems they didn't know that you pit on the opposite side on that track. It's little/big details like that that are a turn off for me.

I would be intrested in getting this game just to have some fun but not for $50. I just got my PS3 and way better games out there.

I think his main issue was that he was going too hard... over driving the turns waaay too much and had to wait to get in the gas... u can see him sliding up the track every turn.... also I think part of the issue with the AI is that they're programmed to run conservatively as if it were a 500 mile race... they use telemetry right? So they have hundreds of laps of information of the cars on tracks but a guy like me or you playing a video game drives like crazy, wears the hell out of the brakes and tires and most likely wouldn't make it to the end of a full race with full damage.

Wrong. I've done a full race once on NTG with all assists off and full damage. I had to spin myself out several times just to keep myself from dying of boredom and still lapped the field twice and won. It was ridiculous

Okay so one thing I've always wanted in a NASCAR game is here now! You control the restart.. through me for quite a loop my first online race at Talladega when everyone was gone in the middle of the tri oval but I realized that it makes u have to get on the gas when it says go between the restart lines and u control it from there...awesome! I still don't know if the leader can restart anywhere they want in those lines bc I haven't been there on a restart.. only did the one race before my kid woke up from her nap.. but I hope it does... either way I think thats awesome! Much more realistic. Thought it was a big glitch at first lol...

Want to get it, as soon as I find a retailer in my area of town, I will get it

I almost bought the game last week but decided to hold off. I said I wasn't gonna get Inside Line and I eventually caved and bought it, so I have no doubt that I'll eventually get this game too.

How is the AI, Slice?
