I thought the same thing, if he really wanted to continue driving I would've expected at least a few starts in the 88 Xfinity car by now. I could see this being higher possibility if JRM still ran in the Truck Series personally but none the less I'd love to see him wheel it around Martinsville...

Between 2007 and 2017 we've seen 18 winners between Daytona and Dega (only points races included). Only Newman, Bayne, Almirola, and Ku. Busch have a lone win during this period between the two tracks. Most notably, BK has 6 wins which means he has won 14% of points restrictor plate races...
