Rate The Cup Race: Las Vegas I

7.5 and that is because other than Harvick the top 15 cars were racing for position until most got a lap down. I in fact enjoyed watching the #48 struggle so much and other than Larson the Chevies were not doing much. I was surprised that Kyle's car came alive and he got a good finish.
I enjoy the big one just as much as anyone else but today and last week has just been a clinic by the 4 team. Plus there was some good racing behind the 4 which I think alot missed for some reason.
Agreed. It seems like if the leaders are not banging fenders then the race is no good.

I'd give it a 4 for Harvick woulda been a 2 or 3 if it was any of the other active veteran driver. Was watching a clip of this race in '99 when they RAISED the spoiler to make passing easier. There were 17 lead changes by half way.

You mean the ONE leader, and the other guys trailing multiple seconds behind.

6.5

I enjoyed this race just a little bit more than the Atlanta race, but Harvick has come out swinging this year, as has Stewart-Haas. Unfortunately, aside from Harvick's win, the team's performance today was not reflected by their final results. It was a bummer to see KuBu and Chase Elliott end up in the fence. However, it was nice to see Aric Almirola get his first Stewart-Haas top ten.

Jimmie Johnson perked up a little bit today, and some of the other teams who seemed to be MIA throughout the first two weeks produced some good results today.

There was some nice battling, but Kevin Harvick just had this one in the bag. It was almost a carbon copy of last week's race.

The 4 team has figured out something the others haven't. It is just a matter of time before other teams figure it out. The drivers didn't have to lift much during a lap. And there is a different mix of drivers finished in the top 10, that's good to see.

7.5. It was a great race except for one thing, the large speed advantage of Harvick. Yes, that is a big thing, but IMO the race deserves a lot of credit for the race put on by the other 36 cars and drivers. Behind Harvick, we had comers and goers, side-by-side racing, lots of action, and a bit of strategy.

On corner exit, the drivers had to pedal the throttle a looong time before going WFO That makes it a race of driver skill and set-up skill, which is important to me. If fate had plucked the 4 out of contention, this would have been a dynamite stock car race to me.

PS: I was surprised how much coverage Fox gave this week to the question of JJ's age in the 48 car's performance. The subject was discussed twice on Race Hub, again during the pre-race show, and also during the race broadcast. I thought the topic was timely and handled fairly, so I'm not complaining about Fox's coverage. Just mildly surprised they did not shy away from a sensitive topic concerning this century's greatest stock car driver.

7.. kind of boring but I'd rather see a boring race than a bunch of wrecked cars. Plus it's good to see some speed back in the 22.. hopefully that continues

As hard as I try to get excited about the 1.5's , I still can't.
I know, its me. I still love seeing the cars on track but as far
as exciting racing moments, just a few.

I appreciated a relatively caution-free race for the second week in a row. Unlike Hotlanta, this one lacked third-stage strategies. The #78 and #2's tire strategy experiments demonstrated there'd be nothing but 4 tires for everybody from then on.

Kevin continues to stink up the show, with the prospect of more of the same next week. Remember the difference between 'dominating' and 'stinking up the show'. It's called 'dominating' when MY favorite driver does it.

5 boring but cool to see harv dominate
