Yeah that is a good move. I hope Berry can make something out of that ride. I think it is there but it isn't going to be easy, that is a small team. I hope they can get help from the Penske bunch.

It's a good move for the Wood Brothers when compared to young Harry, but unless they get some really good help from Penske, it might not be that great for Berry. They at least have to get up to Berry's/Childers SHR's level I would think out of the box.

If Gene wants to Keep Rodney for Custer I think he can win the bidding war, that's all I was saying
 
How do we even know Rodney wants to continue the everyday grind and every week travel of being a Cup crew chief? I could see him entering into late models with Harvick, CC’ing those cars
 
At this point, anything is an upgrade over Harrison Burton. Berry is the type of driver that could turn a struggling team into a playoff contender. With Childers as a crew chief? I think that's a scary combination.

So looks like Roger is gonna float the full ride. Maybe we will get another surprise soon and Rodney announces for the 21. He said he wanted another Title and Daytona 500 and I dont see him getting that with Custer. So does he want that, or Genes money? Its not like Rodney is poor.

Ah, I got you. IMO, Harrison Burton is probably the worst driver in Cup, so I was confused to see anyone mention the word "great" in the same sentence, but now I understand what you meant

I don't think him losing his ride has anything with the money. It may have bought him an extra year in the car.
I think I read not long ago the Wood Brothers has made many changes as to management with new CO.

On the contrary, I was saying he got the ride because he brought money. All the Wood Brothers need is a new Driver and engineering help. Everyone wants to talk about teams with better equipment, no such thing, everything is the same you just need someone who can drive it and engineers to tell you whats wrong
