Silly Season 2025

Yo Rodney. You can't keep Lajoie out of the wall.

I was shocked at first, but then thinking about it....Made his name with MWR in a similar situation.....maybe? Going back to how it started? Maybe this is part of his DNA? I don't think Penske was having any of the blade and rear glass stuff.....still smarting from the Indy Car stuff.

Believe Childers likes the challenge and having a free rein. Spire will give him the latitude to do that.
He had that at MWR....you think there is a theme here?

I don't know if Spire's a startup at this point. The cars are reasonably competitive now, as Carson Hocevar has been showing.

Corey Lajoie is, by a country mile, the weakest link on that team. We'll see if he can get some top-10s or even a win with Rodney Childers. If he doesn't, it won't be because of the crew chief.
Yeah what I mean by " basically" a startup. He's gonna have to go in and retool a lot of areas. I don't know much about their engineers but I assume if he can he's gonna bring a few of his. I guess since Corey has seniority he got Childers. I bet they twisted themselves into a pretzel trying to figure out how to get Berry and Rodney

The 7 is going to be an interesting opening whenever Spire will have had enough of LaJoie crashing it out most weeks. Spire is building something, especially with a Gainbridge/Andretti link as rumored on here and on other forms of socials.

They better invest in better talent behind the wheel, that's how I figure.
Maybe this is Lajoie's last stand, do better with Childers or else. Usually a CC gets canned and the driver remains if a shake-up is needed. I doubt that would be true in this case with Childers if Lajoie continues to struggle, by being slower and wrecking more than Hocevar.

LaJoie isn't going to magically get better IMO. Why they put Childers with him I'll never know. But it does leave another unanswered question. What is Haas going to do?

For a crew chief?
Let him Crew Chief and Drive. Agreed with your point on LaJoie, I dont think he's long for that seat with Rodney there. I would imagine next year is a fact finding mission for Rodney and who ever he decides to bring in from his 4 team. They're going to take an assessment of what isnt working and go from there.

As soneone that is rooting for Lajoie I still would agree that he is not magically going to get better. It is just wishful thinking on my part, that is becoming more and more unrealistic.

But who knows? The chemistry between a driver and a crew chief is not always a predictable thing.
I do think that Childers, as a former driver, and Lajoie's experience working on his race cars in the past could be something for them build on.

The pressure is or should definitely be on him, more than ever I would think, and it's becoming a now-or-never situation. He has to do well with Childers.

Childers will put a balanced car on the track every week.

LaJoie will be the beneficiary of that. He’s been a loyal soldier at Spire through a disruptive period of growth. This is his reward.
Yeah, that is an opportunity for Childers in that area. For sure if LaJoie picks up. Chemistry was brought up also. I'm pretty sure Childress has known Cory's dad Randy for a lot of years also.

You have to remember the guy on the box for the 7 is also the competition manager over there, or at least was last I heard. That's not helping anyone

There's a lot to be said for being able to call your own shots. At the Woods, Penske would be looking over his shoulder.

Good for Noah, I think he's going to do well at FRM. I really wanted him to go to RCR with Rodney, based on nothing besides wanting them to try to run well again. They are crazily falling behind by the week and missing out on talented people. If only I had alot of Millions laying around to buy a charter for RC.

Happy for Noah. I was nervous he would somehow end up at RCR and that would’ve been a bad fit IMO. Hopefully he can help continue building what they have going on over there.

The whole front row thing seems kind of strange to me. Sounds like something went sideways in the SHR deal they will no longer be using that as their shop. I know they said they would be getting a 3rd charter, but there sure hasn't been much chatter around that lately. You would think there would be some talk about who's going to fill that seat?

He said in the clip above they are trying to find a young driver to fill the seat if possible. They have a third charter, he says that also. This is straight out of the owner Bob Jenkins mouth.
