Interesting. For a while, it looked like Dixie Alley was becoming the new Tornado Alley. This year, it seems Tornado Alley stayed true to its name.
West side. 5 degrees hotter in Woodland Hills today, 119, even though it’s only 5 miles from my house. They are in the south west corner of this end of the valley and I’m in the north west corner. We’re both just inside several mountain ranges, not much flow though here, gets breezy in the evening but the temps generally stay hot in high pressure conditions.

Germany: Bridge in Dresden collapses into Elbe river – DW – 09/11/2024
Police officers nearby described loud noises and the the ground shaking at part of the Carola Bridge fell into the river. No cause for the collapse has been determined as of yet.

Got up early cause...apparently went to bed too early? Waiting for Hardee's to open. 13 minutes to 6AM and it's raining cats & dogs. At least they unlikely to be eaten in my town.

It's either feast or famine with weather here.
Somehow, we are in dire need of rain again. And now we have a coastal system that's supposed to dump about 5-8" of rain but so far, all of that rain has missed us where I'm at and looks like it will remain that way.

Still raining. Not quite as hard but get you pretty wet before you get in car. My dome light works fantastically. Even when it's raining!

We had temperatures up to 90 degrees last week, I don't think we've exceeded 60 degrees once this week and it's been raining since Monday.

I've got radar pulled up, the rain is finding all sorts of creative ways to miss us where I'm at.
Fall is usually very dry so I'd like to see some rain before we get to that dry season.
This is better than last year when it didn't rain at my apartment for three whole months.

Still, we in eastern NC can't complain about the temps lately. Labor Day arrived and Mom Nature turned the thermostat down 8 or 10 degrees. Even better, she turned off the humidifier.
