I say it’s maybe a combination of both tbh. The bonehead moves definitely cause it, but if they weren’t in a big pack it wouldn’t happen either.

These giant wrecks have been happening since they put plates on them. Don’t fool yourself. Go back and watch Rusty flip through the trioval at Dega in 93 or Tony Stewart tumble over cars down the backstretch at Daytona in 2001.

I would argue that Gilliland should have moved to the apron to let the field go by. He disrupted the airflow and make things go squirrelly.
