I'm not old enough to know that Hendrick was originally called All Star Racing. My apologies for making the question somewhat confusing. The question was supposed to read "Who won the first ever points-paying Cup series race for Hendrick?".
The answer is Geoff Bodine. I declare @sdj the winner even though he spelled it wrong.

Well because the companies first win in '84 was All Star Racing as Jackman said, they didn't become Hendrick Motorsports in name until '85It was so easy that people think it was a trick question.
