Nascar Trivia

I just looked it up and yeah I don't think anyone is gonna guess the 4th one. And before anyone says it it isn't Chicago Motor Speedway that only had truck races.

Chicagoland, Chicago Street Course, Wrigley Field & don't know the other.

Nazareth?
Nazareth is in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

I would say the fourth location is Solider Field

Chicagoland Speedway - check

Chicago Street Course - check

Soldier Field - check

Wrigley Field - nope

Nazareth - what @Greg said

The Grand National Series made an appearance in west suburban Chicago during the early days of NASCAR at the fourth track, a speedway that shares it's name with a railroad that was widely known for its passenger train service in the first half of the 20th century.

I was actually surprised when I looked it up that those 4 make up 4 of the 5 tracks NASCAR has had a Cup race at in Illinois. The other being Gateway. Seems like there would of been more at some point.

In addition to the Chicago Street Race, Chicago-area tracks that have hosted a NASCAR Cup race consist of the following:

Santa Fe Speedway, 1954

Located about 20 miles southwest of Chicago in Willow Springs, Santa Fe Speedway hosted one Cup Series race way back in 1954.

The race, held on July 10, 1954, was won by Dick Rathman driving a Hudson Hornet. Rathman led 154 of 200 laps in the race, taking home the prize money of $1,000. Several NASCAR Hall of Famers competed in the event, including Lee Petty, Herb Thomas, Hershel McGriff and Buck Baker.

Santa Fe Speedway held its final local races in 1995 before being torn down in 1999. Today, the former track site is home to an upscale housing development.

Soldier Field, 1956-57

In 1956, three NASCAR-sanctioned races were held at Soldier Field – one NASCAR Cup Series race and two NASCAR Convertible Division races. The Cup Series race was held at the quarter-mile, paved track inside the stadium on July 21, 1956. NASCAR Hall of Famer Fireball Roberts won the race, earning $850.

Chicagoland Speedway, 2001-19

NASCAR’s most recent trip to the Chicago area was in 2019, when Chicagoland Speedway hosted its 19th Cup Series race.

From 2001 to 2019, an annual NASCAR race was held at the 1.5-mile tri-oval speedway. Located in Joliet, about 35 miles southwest of Chicago, the track hosted the opening race of the NASCAR playoffs from 2011 to 2017. For the final two years at Chicagoland, the race was moved to Fourth of July Weekend.

The race was scheduled to host a race in 2020, but it was canceled due to the pandemic. Chicagoland didn’t return to the NASCAR schedule in 2021 and it remains off the calendar.

Information lifted from this site: NASCAR roots in Chicago date back to 1954, including races at Soldier Field

I'll bite.

Why are manhole covers always round and never any other shape, that is square or rectangular.

Also, what track has hosted three Cup points paying races in a single year ?

Because you can't fit a circle through a circle but you can fit a square and rectangle through themselves so they could fall in.

Is it Darlington in 2020?

What 2 current World of Outlaws tracks in Pennsylvania have hosted Cup series races?

Didn't Daytona run the 500, then the roval then the summer race in 2021 for three races?
I had no idea about the manhole question

Yes, Daytona hosted those three races in 2021.

Also, Charlotte hosted three races in 2020, two on the oval and one on the roval.

There may be others but it was Darlington and Charlotte in 2020 that I had I mind.

I went Darlington because it was all on the same layout, I count the others as 2 separate tracks.

Port Royal and Williams Grove?
Yes on Williams Grove Herb Thomas won the only race there in June of 1954.

Port Royal has never hosted a Cup race and in fact isn't currently on the World of Outlaws schedule.

The other track hosted 7 Cup races between 1955 and 1965. A convertible race in 1956, and a Grand National East race in 1973.

Lennerville?

I dont know what the race is famous for but Tony wrecked Jeff for the win. Tony came around to take the checkered flag and saw about 20000 middle fingers. I was there. The following year Jr. won.

Winner! Makes sense that a Kasey Kahne fan would get the answer. Your turn to ask a question.
I'm still mad about that one.

Who was the first driver to win 4 consecutive cup races and they were his only wins.

I know this, because me and my dad talk about it all the time lmao. Billy Wade. We laugh how he probably thought he finally got this thing figured out. Just to never win again after 4 haha
Correct, though to be fair he did die a few months later in a tire test at Daytona.

Since no one posted a question, I'll ask one myself.

At what track was Greg Biffle's first career points paying Cup series victory?

Daytona July 2003 if I recall on fuel mileage.

@sdj I'll give it a go.

Michael Waltrip only had one multi win season in his Cup series career. In which year did he accomplish that feat?

(Points paying).
