23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

This is extremely classless and reprehensible.
Whereas a 'no lawsuits' clause is an upright, gentlemanly way to conduct business. Geez, even cable companies, cell phone services, used car dealers, and other low-lives include an option for binding arbitration, even if they choose who makes the decisions.

Kessler delivering the goods. That’ll hurt more when NASCAR had to pay his firm’s fees.

( add to above) … the Court refers to the full substance of its Order in support of its decision and disagrees that the Court’s ruling is in error."

Judge also says the SHR charter transfer to Front Row must go through, but 23XI's request must be considered separately on its own merits because it wasn't included in the original filing (but said he'll look at it ASAP).

Legalese for 'What part of 'No.' didn't you understand?'

Apparently the “make the same arguments but yell louder” strategy isn’t paying off.

Tough to shrug off 75 years of getting your own way.
Maybe try pouting, crying, or holding their breath until they turn blue. My sister used to do those although I don't recall it affecting my parents' decisions either, so maybe not. Perhaps going full-blown Veruca Salt?

Lots of news from today’s court proceedings but I didn’t see anything about NASCAR’s application to have the 2 teams be required to post bonds to cover potential “overpayments”’ in the seemingly unlikely event that the sanctioning body prevails in these matters.

I thought that was interesting.

Interesting. According to media coverage, both Japan and Honda celebrated big time when Takuma Sato scored his two I500 wins. Maybe the lack of enthusiasm in '03 was because Gil de Ferran wasn't Japanese? Or maybe IndyCar is a more popular series in Japan than it was then?

But yeah, if the board doesn't care, there's not going to be much support for being there.
I am thinking that at that time, oval stuff wasn't the thing....some (maybe many?) thought that the Speedway was dangerous and silly. I know we are talking about Japan, but Schumacher thought it was complete idiocy. I also feel that your thought about the nationality of the driver was a factor. GR had barely gotten the sticker on the Hass in F1, and had a Japanese driver testing. Toyota has stuck with Katsuta in WRC forever.

I wonder if anybody at NASCAR thought to themselves that this Michael Jordan guy might be a problem if he speaks up?

An additional thought....I wonder if there is any contract language that prohibits owners with smaller stones to support MJ. Look, if Denny switches to Chevy, we will know. That Felon guy has a stack of hundreds ready and waiting.

I never thought so until I saw his little squatty white haired buddy who is behind it.

You get moved to the appeals court when you can’t stop the losing but still have money in the bank.

Expecting a different result? Good luck.
This guy agreed what I said also and he is an attorney. Retired senior military officer with 30 years of active duty service. Practicing attorney.
:idunno: I'll take his attorney take on it and Toni's who is an actual driver over a bunch of hairy legs around here lol.

Please repost a link to what the attorney said. Can’t find it. Maybe judge Bell struck it from the record.

Toni’s take is certainly significant. Have Jade, Taylor and Kaylee weighed in yet? 😎

Maybe you should give these newcomer girls in the sport some encouragement

I'm in favor of any post that advances this past the Deegan thread, but how did Toni B. come up in the lawsuit discussion?
She appeared in post # 2297, apparently because “at least she’s a driver”. Several links each of which takes u to her X timeline. None of which tells us anything about what she said or who the attorney guy who agrees with Stan is or what he said.

Thanks. Those links gave me my annual reminder of why I otherwise don't look at celebrities' social media pages. I saw nothing there that made me want to pay any more attention to her, on track or off. Also nothing about her opinions regarding the lawsuit.

Wow…I never thought I’d see posters here eagerly standing by the gate, rooting for the gutting of an organization that brings us the racing we love so much. I get all the reasons why…these many pages are full of both sides (plenty of mine also). But it’s sort of like rooting for people to set the house on fire cause it will be wild to see what happens. Fact is, this is far from over for either party, and we only get bits and pieces from Bob P or Jayski. Therefore, I’d say cheering or booing each announced development is akin to watching a point scored at a tennis match. Currently this case is maybe scored at 2-1 plaintiffs. A lot of tennis still to be played.

As for me, I’m settling into the spirit of Christmas! We’ve got the lights glowing, ready for tonight’s Christmas Eve service at church, and the warmth from the true meaning of this day.

I wish each and every one here a very blessed and Merry Christmas! I even wish a happy one for Hambone 😊.

I can enjoy the presents that arrive that were bought through Amazon while still having strong concerns about the company’s business practices and long term result of their business model on the larger economy.

Post hoc ergo propter hoc

And that being said I agree Merry Christmas everyone. Even those we disagree with, in hopes it somehow leads to some kind of happy medium of civility and mutual respect the rest of the year.

We are all race fans here.

I personally resent the notion that I'm "rooting for the gutting" when there's no gutting happening. All that's happening is NASCAR isn't fully and solely getting their way. That's it. Nothing else has happened.

You won’t see anything, because she liked the tweet in question. Not posted it. It seems SOI made the tweet that’s in the post, and Toni liked said tweet.

Some people believe the stripper likes them. (not referring to Toni as a stripper) Just that some never heard of a publicist.

Looks like they changed their mind. Their appeal of the injunction ruling now indicates an unwillingness pay out the charter portion of prize money in spite of the fact that the judge’s ruling referenced full charter privileges.

“It’s worth noting, that part of NASCAR’s appeal will have that court to have the sanctioning body only allow the teams entry into every race, two cars apiece, but not acquire the third charter each and also not be paid as if they had charters in 2025.”

Pardon my cheerleading.

Before anybody gets carried away about Nascar calling the teams franchises and themselves a franchisor, read this below.

A franchisor is a business or corporation that sells the right to use its brand, name, products, services, and intellectual property to other businesses, called franchisees. Franchisors typically have an established business and are entrepreneurs who have created a successful model.

Franchisors control many aspects of the franchisee's business, including the brand, name, and business system. Franchisees pay the franchisor money and are responsible for the financial risk of their business.

Franchising allows businesses to expand more quickly and successfully by leveraging the local market knowledge of their franchisees. Corporations often use franchising to expand their global presence.

Some examples of franchisors include:
  • Snap-on Tools Company LLC: Offers franchise opportunities to sell tools to professional technicians
  • Jani-King International, Inc. A commercial cleaning franchisor with over 120 regional support offices in 10 countrie
  • McDonald's: A fast-food restaurant that franchisees can contact to open a location
Before investing in a franchise, prospective franchisees should research the franchise system and consult a franchise lawyer.

For example. Try taking a bunch of Snap on tools and selling them out of a Matco truck and see how long it takes to not be a Snap On franchisee anymore....used box truck for sale...low miles, make offer.
