I still wonder what the plan is for a 3rd charter next season?
Everyone wants it to be Ware’s. But I think it’s more likely Hyak sells out and Ricky moves on. Either to Spire (they wanted him last year) or back to the dirt tracks.

I'd love to see NASCAR require Hendrick and Gibbs conform to the same three-car limit as every other team. Give them a deadline three or four years out, maybe even the end of the current TV agreement. Pay them the 80% of the current market value; after all, they got the charters for free.

Who knows, that might even be grounds for RFK to sue NASCAR. Hey, it worked for FRM and 23xi. :p

Well actually JGR bought their 4th charter at the time from the former MWR as part of the Rob Kauffman get rich scheme. By anyways let's not let facts get in the way of a good story....

I'm sorry but these are plenty of people on here that just make up facts to fit their objective. And your story of them having to sell them back for 80% of the market value because JGR didn't pay for any of them is moot.

I'm flexible regarding the price. But if no one else an have four, what legally defensible reason is there to permit only these two teams?

I guess the same reason is what legal reason do they have to take them away? I mean everything was above board when they became 4 car teams.

In the end it really doesnt matter how many the house team has. Penske is a 4 car team, JGR is a 7 car team and the argument could be made with Spire now HMS is a 7 car team.

Trackhouse is aligned with RCR also. They are all tangled up some way it seems with the OEM's right in the middle of the pile.
 
The way I understand it is because they were already four car teams at the signing of the original charter agreement, and if either would fail to field four full time cars, or sell a charter, they would be restricted to three cars from there on out.
