    Fixing Attendance

I don't really know the answer for fixing attendance in NASCAR at this point, but I think they could look to Sprint Car racing for some ideas. We just has the annual Trophy Cup at Tulare Thunderbowl Raceway out here in Tulare, CA last weekend and over a Thursday, Friday and Saturday they were...

2017 Charlotte - Bank of America 500 - Pre Race Thread

We leave NC on Monday night, but we are in Savannah and then SC and then back to Charlotte the following weekend before we fly back to CA. I can do the Monday race it will just set our time table back a few hours as we are driving on Monday from NC to Savannah.

2017 Charlotte - Bank of America 500 - Pre Race Thread

No way they could do this. People are flying in on Saturday, people like myself. The good news is that Charlotte has lights so we could push the race to later into the night and if not it does look like Monday is an option. Weather shows anywhere from 40-60 percent chance Monday.

Martin Truex Jr.: It ‘makes sense’ to raise minimum speed for undamaged cars

As someone who has spotted for a short track late model race before I will say that it is hectic and it was difficult to keep the driver out of the way of the leaders. That being said, it was the first time I had ever done it and I'm not a professional spotter. At the end of the day if you are a...

NASCAR, where have all your fans gone?

One other thing my wife does is follow a lot of the NASCAR drivers and wives on twitter. It seems a little weird, but it is a way to connect and in turn makes the drivers more accessible. The drivers need to get a little more vulgar and a little more showman like. It is why I like KyBu...

NASCAR, where have all your fans gone?

My wife likes NASCAR, but she does not go out of her way to turn it on and watch it. She will go and she will enjoy it, but on race day, I am watching and she is not. She is also not a millennial. My wife is 36 years old. She is also a membership marketer for a Country Club another sport which...

    Cone Rule

Also, refusing to call the cone strategy is factually wrong by definition of the word. You do not have to like the idea, but let's not lose all ability to be objective to it. I wouldn't mind seeing it in the lower levels to see if it provides for a better race experience in general. I for one...

    Cone Rule

NASCAR needs to do something in my opinion to stop guys for break checking so blatantly on pit road. Pocono, Indy, Michigan, Bristol have all been tracks this year where guys have had significant radio communication in regards to the line they prefer to restart in that I myself have listened to...

    Cone Rule

I am amazed as to how you do not understand this. If I am in 6th and we are coming to the cone and I see 4 cars stay to the bottom, I then have the choice to move to the bottom and risk guys filling the top lane, thus advancing their position or moving into row 2 making me 4th at the restart. I...

    Cone Rule

I was completely against it until I saw a Lucas Oil Modified Series race do it at Madera Speedway. Madera is predominantly a one groove track. If you can catfish you can hang on for a very long time. The idea behind the cone is that if you are marred back in 6th and think you may have a better...

    Rate The Race: Michigan 2

He was yelling it out into turn 1 and his spotter came on and told him to shut up and focus, lol. I was dying at his shock of what he had just done. Dude was celebrating he W with 1 1/2 laps to go.

    Larson

Me saying he "never" takes responsibility is a stretch yes or more of an exaggeration. We are obviously going to disagree on this in pretty much all we are discussing. However, we cannot sit here and say "It's racing" and "that's how Jimmie drives" for his issues on track and then talk about how...

    Larson

I see both left sides below the yellow line. Now, that could have cause KK to wash up, but it was a relatively seamless transition from the track to the 3 feet of asphault under the yellow line there. If you ask me, JJ squeezed him down and forced the issue

    Larson

There have been 3 different instances this season where JJ has blocked Larson when he had a run. Look, blocking happens, no way around it, but the Indy block was ridiculous. He drove him down to the line and then back to the middle of the track. JJ was lucky that Larson didn't fence him because...

    Rate The Race: The Brickyard

The race ebbed and flowed. I would rate it a 6. It more then met my expectations, but they were low to begin with. I liked the hard aggressive racing, but the blocking was absolutely ridiculous. I don't mind blocking, but when guys are being forced into the grass or into the front stretch wall...

2017 NASCAR Season - Television Ratings Thread

So this idea would make a ton of sense. The WWE did this. It gives the fan base everything that they want. If you are an old school fan you can watch classic content as well as documentaries. If you are fringe and just watch occasionally then you can tune in for the broadcast of the actual races...

    Cup race in Eldora's future?

I don't think I want to see the Cup cars on dirt. When I watch dirt I want it to be different, I want to see something that I recognize as racing on dirt. I just do not correlate the Cup series as a dirt series and to see those cars on dirt would be ridiculous to me. Now, if they would like to...

    Charlotte Tips and Tricks

Tremendous info above. I really appreciate it. I'm a huge history buff. I like to be places where you can feel that something happened. I was told by someone about an underground city in Charleston that was being preserved or had been preserved where they have the building with cannon balls...

    Charlotte Tips and Tricks

I am in need of some tips. We have a vacation planned in October to visit Savannah, GA and Charleston, SC. It just so happens that we are flying into Charlotte on Saturday the 7th and I convinced the Wifey to hit the Charlotte race on Sunday. Plane is booked, rental car is booked, hotels are...

    Late Start Races

I will try and answer everything above from a West Coaster's mind set...... I do not attend church or any other religious gathering, but it is because I am not interested in it whatsoever. As far as start times go, I actually do not mind the later starts, because for me its a nooner. It allows...
