Cup RACE thread --- Watkins Glen

And exactly how from a championship contention standpoint do you think SVG would make Hendrick better than what they already are? SVG might be a win machine, but he's still a LONG way from being a championship contender. If anyone is going to push Bowman out of the 48 seat, it's going to be...

Cup RACE thread --- Watkins Glen

First off, Trackhouse would be a fool to let him go, second HMS does not have a history of poaching drivers from other teams, especially other Chevy teams, and third, I would still take Bowman over a full season as far as points go even though he's less likely to win as many races as SVG. In...

Cup RACE thread --- Watkins Glen

Quite possibly the most pathetic performance by HMS, especially on a road course that I have ever seen. Whatever they are doing, it's so far out to lunch that I don't think I could do much worse setting up the cars for this race. I don't know when I have EVER been more embarrassed. 😢😡😝🤬🤮

    Legacy to Toyota

Well, we are in year three of the Toyota experiment, when do the results come?

    The saga of Kyle Bush.

Adam, (who I like and who I think is super talented by the way) was the one running his mouth. The only person Adam should've had a problem with (if not Kyle Busch) was Martin Truex, and he should've confined it to Martin. Those crew guys weren't driving the damn car. If you would've come in any...

    The saga of Kyle Bush.

Well, I firmly believe if a word shouldn't be said, then NOBODY should be saying it. I don't think there's absolutely any excuse for a black person to be using the N-word for instance. It just sets a horrible example and a double standard in my opinion. It reinforces the notion that everybody...

    Legacy to Toyota

Again with THIS narrative? Jimmie turned down his chance to be right along JG at Hendrick, and then, after showing ZERO interest in being a team owner, and getting Chevy's blessing to drive a Honda Indy car, he buys into a team that happens to be a Chevy at the moment, knowing that the team was...

If Gabehart was that critical to the success of JGR, then why did y'all treat him like dirt?

    Jim France stepping down.

Well, that would be four reasons to fire somebody if I was the one calling a shots.

Spire has enough money behind it to BUY JGR if they wanted to.

    Legacy to Toyota

I've never gotten the impression that funding is what is holding Legacy back. If you are a tier one team, you can likely take on a lesser driver just for the funding, but a tier three team risks being stuck in perpetual mediocrity.

    Legacy to Toyota

In my opinion, if Legacy wants to take the next step forward, they need a hell of a lot more than Riley Herbst. That hire wouldn't move the needle for me even a tiny bit.

    Legacy to Toyota

Because as far as I'm concerned, Toyota will always be the enemy to me. Heck, I like Honda more than I like Toyota.

    Jim France stepping down.

I was always a big Jim France supporter, but his handling of the IMSA-Grand Am merger really soured me on him, and as far as I'm concerned, his tenure heading NASCAR was a HUGE disappointment. As far as I'm concerned, he will not be missed as far as his current role is concerned. I have not...

    Spire Motorsports

For a team that was once not really any better than RWR, they sure have come along way. Of course, with the resources they have at their disposal, anything less would be extremely disappointing.

    The saga of Kyle Bush.

Are you suggesting there are slurs you CAN say? If so, that is a big part of the problem, and I caught a LOT of grief over it here when the Larson incident happened. Rules for thee, but not for me. As far as I'm concerned, if someone else can't say something, then neither can you.

Who brings more eyes to NASCAR? Cleetus or MJ?

Well, sometimes the adult in the room has to save everybody else for themselves.

Who brings more eyes to NASCAR? Cleetus or MJ?

Talladega may require less skill, but mistakes tend to be magnified, and your mistakes have a far greater chance of impacting (pun intended) someone else, or a lot of someone elses. Now maybe we just accept some realities and take it as par for the course in the Truck Series, but I don't think...

Who brings more eyes to NASCAR? Cleetus or MJ?

Thank God, somebody with some sanity finally stepped in. The approval process has been kind of a joke for a long time and this was just making it all the more obvious. If running three laps off the pace and nearly wrecking yourself about four times at Rockingham qualifies you to run at...
