To be honest, I'm fairly excited about the Chase this year.
I say son, Newman needs to lose a few. Go on a diet, man.Could be, it seems that the last couple of years the Champion was in the stage of making a major change (crew chief, car manufacturer etc.). I think I might just have to go with Newman or Kurt Bush.
I believe Matt Kenseth will get it done this year. .
Yep, that's a good start, especially consider the last two champs also won at the first Chase race. Hopefully I'll have to buy a bunch of new championship gear.So far so good.
Brutal... well that was a big shot at any hopes this year lol... why would I think that they could go 10 races without something failing? lol its been the story of the year for the 22.. Hey Roger.. Dodge is on the phone... PLEASE PICK UP!!
lol Nah Im good.. did a number on my liver last night tho
There you are. We were afraid you'd do something to yourself. lol
I hear ya. Jr. grenading his engine sucked as well.lol Nah Im good.. did a number on my liver last night tho.. what a terrible way to start your first chase lol
Due to the long rain delay there were probably many many livers scarred last night.lol Nah Im good.. did a number on my liver last night tho.. what a terrible way to start your first chase lol

Yup.. that's the worst part. It's a shame the 22 blew their engine. They really had a good car. I would have liked to have seen where they'd have finished if they had the chance.
I think an easy top 5.
There will be others that have issues. Its going to be the 1-3 guys that make the least that make it to Homestead with a shot.. so I really wouldn't count anyone out of the top 5 until at least 3 races from now. Joey made up over 50 points twice already this season... granted the chase is different.. you still cant count anyone out after just one race. That's why there is no such thing as a mulligan in the chase anymore.
One bad race and you might as well not show up next week. 52 might as well be a million to them. They will be lucky to get out of the 12th and 13th spots as is.
Things tend to trend to the bad side when the first or second chase race is a fiasco and I think a determining factor may be because when they get that far behind that quick they try too hard and it bites them in the ass. There will be others that have issues. Keselowski's worst Chase finish last year was 15th and that was at Homestead. Stewart's worst in 2011 was 25th. He's pretty much done. There will be others that have issues. I'll go with those three and throw the 78 in there for now, anyone who can come from a lap down and finish tied for 5th in the standings, tied with Carl who has two wins to his none is off to a good start. It'll say right now it'll be a battle between 20, 18, and 48, and it'll get narrowed down to 18 vs. 48 towards the end.
Kenseth, Kyle and Jimmy are in the catbird seat at this point in the game

Kurt was the inept one this time, speeding on pit row. Gordon at least went a lap down due to a flat. But they both ended up only a point apart. I don't want to count out the dark horse yet.Hard to pull that every race though.
Kurt's crew is just too inept. They will keep screwing up. Kurts has about the same chances Gordon has at this point. lol

Did u just read that one comment or actually look around this thread because Joey made up over 100 points on JJ in 6 races from indy to Atlanta... actually its in the is Ford behind thread.... go check it out and then get yourself a plate ready.. throw ur words on it and grab a fork.Making up 50 points on a 10th guy is a different story than making points on drivers like Jimmie. Logano is not going to make 20 points on him let alone 50.
His aim should now be top 10 in points.
Too many good tracks coming up for the guys leading this thing.
But...Joey lost 40 of those points in one race, last Sunday.Did u just read that one comment or actually look around this thread because Joey made up over 100 points on JJ in 6 races from indy to Atlanta... actually its in the is Ford behind thread.... go check it out and then get yourself a plate ready.. throw ur words on it and grab a fork.
JJ 2006 finished 39th a Loudon and 24th at Dega... 2009 finished 38th at Texas ... and again in 2010 finished 24th at Loudon... all years he went on to win the championship.Keselowski's worst Chase finish last year was 15th and that was at Homestead. Stewart's worst in 2011 was 25th. He's pretty much done.
Okay but the point is u guys think he cant do it... hes done it... more than what he needs to now in only 2/3 of the races he has now.. its not impossible is all im sayin..But...Joey lost 40 of those points in one race, last Sunday.
It's not impossible for him to lose 40 more points next weekend, either. Just sayin'Okay but the point is u guys think he cant do it... hes done it... more than what he needs to now in only 2/3 of the races he has now.. its not impossible is all im sayin..
no ****** ****... someone give this guy a medal hes a genius! LOL jkIt's not impossible for him to lose 40 more points next weekend, either. Just sayin'
It's not impossible for Joey to win the championship, but already being 52 points out of the lead, he's in quite a hole. Chase drivers can usually survive one finish like this, so Joey has to be spot on from here on out to have a shot and hope the 11 guys ahead of him have some problems along the way.Okay but the point is u guys think he cant do it... hes done it... more than what he needs to now in only 2/3 of the races he has now.. its not impossible is all im sayin..
Don't be an a**hole. jkno ****** ****... someone give this guy a medal hes a genius! LOL jk
And that was with a point system that punished poor finishes much less than the current system does.JJ 2006 finished 39th a Loudon and 24th at Dega... 2009 finished 38th at Texas ... and again in 2010 finished 24th at Loudon... all years he went on to win the championship.
Big difference between gaining points on Jimmie Johnson during a stretch where he has nothing to race for and gaining points on Jimmie Johnson when he's competing for a championship.Okay but the point is u guys think he cant do it... hes done it... more than what he needs to now in only 2/3 of the races he has now.. its not impossible is all im sayin..
Look guys Im not out here trying to say I think he'll win it after that.. because I don't, but its not impossible. I am very confident he will finish top 5.. but in order for him to really have a shot hes gona need some of those guys to have bad races too. Which they most likely will. A few top 5's and another win and hes right back in the fight. Its a long shot but until we see the points after another 3 races or so.. its way too early to count any out for sure. It's not impossible for Joey to win the championship, but already being 52 points out of the lead, he's in quite a hole. Chase drivers can usually survive one finish like this, so Joey has to be spot on from here on out to have a shot and hope the 11 guys ahead of him have some problems along the way.
See, now that I disagree with... the numbers are different but the ratios r the same.. I think the only difference is winning is more important now.And that was with a point system that punished poor finishes much less than the current system does.
