Under the old points system, Joey would have received 57 of a possible 190 points Sunday night (30%). Under the current points system, he received 8 of a possible 48 points (16.67%). So yeah, bad finishes definitely hurt a lot worse now.

Yeah that's crazy I never really thought about it.. figured it was just different ratios but I guess they never started from last before... last got 34 instead of 5... big difference thatd be like last getting 6 points now (ish) I didn't realize it was like that... I don't get why they wouldn't have made it so last gets 5 and each position 5+ afterwards... Ive only been watching since 09 and wasn't into it enough to follow that kind of stuff back then.

Kinda strange to see Joey is worse off finishing 37th now than he would have been finishing dead last a few years ago. Yikes.

No kidding you're going to gain 60 or whatever points Joey made on Jimmie when all he did was crash for like 4 straight races.

Anyway, Jimmie is the least of his problems right now. There are 11 others he has to fight his way through first so this fantasy he's going to make up triple digits points on everybody is borderline insane.

Who said hes gona make up triple digits? I said he already DID... hes only 52 back top 5 is by no means out of reach.

When Jimmie was crashing every race so that's not really comparable.

But yes, top 5 its still a posibility for him.
