2014 Bristol - Food City 500 - Pre Race Thread

Michael Waltrip was also plugging Bowyer's sponsors after the interview. That's a HUGE conflict of interest. You don't hear FOX Sports sitting there talking about drinking Monster Energy Drink or eating at McDonalds. Not to mention, Michael Waltrip didn't even attempt to talk to any other drivers. It was Michael Waltrip, as a FOX Sports reporter, giving the team Michael Waltrip owns and Michael Waltrip's sponsors free airtime.
You and i must be watching two different programs because he talked to Jamie McMurray and he tried to talk to Denny Hamlin.

Get the Waltrips off TV. I swear Michael is gay, and is in a complete conflict of interest by owning a team. And if I hear boogedy boogedy boogedy one more time I'm gonna puke.
You had better move your tv to the bathroom then, because it's going to happen.:D

Well if they do get it started...Bristol Motor Speedway...threatening weather....this could be a wild one :partytime

I see the storm's moving in a way that's about to piss me off... due north so Bristol won't get anymore rain but we'll sure as **** get a foot of snow.

A lot of the fans must be waiting to make sure the rain is over from the looks of the stands.

So he didn't try to talk to others? Weird I swear I saw him knock on other peoples motor home, guess I was seeing things.

Ok teeth brushed mouthwash lets watch this commercial with breaks for the race.

They have more than one truck to haul all their stuff. They'd do it. I don't think you'll see a Wednesday Bristol race but I'd bet they'd still run it up until Tuesday.
DPK, I had the chance to hangout with the drivers of Kevin Harvick, and Jimmie Johnsons haulers for about 3 hours today and we discussed their backup plan if they hadn't got the race finished on Sun in Bristol. You were pretty spot on about how they would do it. Nascar and the teams really wanted to get that race in because they only have 2 off weekends to make that race up and they didn't want to have to come back. They had the plan to stay as late as Tuesday afternoon before they would have had to pull the plug. They would have cancelled the hauler parade on Thur and parked all the haulers on Fri morning in Fontana. The teams main haulers go to every race , but they do have a couple of exta haulers that holds 4 cars each and that is the ones that they use to bring the cars to swap out. Some teams also have a hauler set up to go test but they are not stocked and set up for a race. It was a very interesting discussion and i learned a great deal about the interworkings of these teams. The temp was in the 70s today and there was a really good turnout for the parade.
