2014 Phoenix - The Profit on CNBC 500(k) - Pre Race Thread

ChexOrWrex :p
How many of your girlfriend's headlights did you pay for to be "brighter" hmmmm?? Seems like they burn out after 30 some odd years ;)

Working in the automotive industry, I've actually seen a lot of people coming in numerous times trying to make their headlights brighter, and brighter, and brighter, spending all kinds of money on different stuff. I was helpful because I had to be but in my head I was flipping my lid. Common courtesy on the road is all but dead.

We were talking about boobs.

HID bulbs in a proper projector housing won't blind anyone. HID's in a halogen housing can be annoying, especially the ricer kids with 10,000k blue/purple bulbs that aren't aimed correctly.

And Silverstars are junk.

Yup. I don't mess with HID's myself.. But rarely have I ever seen a 'correct' installation of HID's. And Silverstar's are overpriced, trash.

He drives a hauler and chances are pretty good that he don't tailgate. :p
You are spot on...and there is a nice shiny piece of polished stainless that goes across the bottom part of the back door of our trailer and that pretty much keeps anyone from tailgating me.:D

It looks like Jr and Kyle Busch is on top right now.

My hats off the the hauler drivers on these nascar teams. For them to race all day and half the night at Daytona and then load up and drive 500 miles back to their shop and unload and reload and then drive 2100 miles in 36 hours to Phoenix is a very grueling trip even with two drivers on the truck.

Don't the bigger teams employ 2 hauler drivers? I may be mistaken though

This knockout qualifying is pretty cool. Pretty intense not knowing if your guy will make it to the second round or not. Gordon is 14th of 12th, currently not going to make the cut.

Did Gordon even make a second run? Ahh

First fail for Alan. Gordon didn't make it to the second round. lol

Looks like all the drivers are complaining about the cool downs of the cars. Takes alot of time to do so.

I liked it. Much better than the long and drawn out 1 by 1, and it mixes things up a little. Other than the cha-cha line at the bottom.

It's certainly different. I'm undecided on whether I like it or not. Maybe it'll grow on me. I have difficulty with change :D

I like it but it needs to be seemless still. The way these guys have to park the car and wait until the engine cools down just takes them out of the groove.

It has potential to be great. NASCAR, teams, and the networks covering it will fine tune it I'm sure.

I like PIR. It takes the right set-up to go fast here. I'm hoping for a competitive race.
I can't wait to see these cars at Fontana.
