2015 Atlanta - QuikTrip Folds of Honor 500 - Pre Race Thread

The team failed first inspection....it is not NASCARs fault for you failing first inspection. Not running a lap is your consquences

When they started the clock to begin qualifying the announcers said there was only 25 cars in pit lane. How does that sound fair at all? Also yeah the cars may have failed inspection but Ron Hornaday's car failed and they pushed it through inspection a 2nd time ahead of Michael Annett, Alex Bowman, Landon Cassill and Reed Sorenson because of what number he drew in qualifying. Those teams had no hope of putting a time on the board putting all of them in danger of missing the race. You either let all the teams have 2 chances to get through the line or none.

Hornaday could have driven with the window net down and both arms out the window flipping the fans the bird while still making the race.

That is harsh.

17 minutes left of inspection after everyone has gone through once doesn't seem long enough.

Probably the drivers fault for drawing a bad number.

I said the same thing a few pages back. Part of the reason why they were late on tech was because of the late number. Some didn't even get to go a second time through. This is just embarrassing.

Logic isn't worth much when discussing NASCAR.

No wonder why it is so hard for teams to find sponsorship these days. NASCAR sends a team with a dedicated full season car and sponsorship in the 46 with Annett because some ridiculous random draw and inspection process, but the Ron Hornaday team makes it without real sponsorship with a car that is 4 or 5 seconds off the pace.

It's a joke.

I honestly don't even care that much thatGordon didn't make it through, it sucks and would have been more entertaining but I know he will work his way torwards the front on race day. It sucks that NASCAR is using some convoluted process and screwing teams with real sponsorship like they did with the 7 of Bowman at Dayton and 46 this week.

It will be fun to see see these cars go through the field. If they get caught in a mess in the back, people will rage though

10 bucks one of the big names run over the #30 Roadblock Chevy SS of Ron Hornaday. It'll be fun to watch someone like Tony Stewart and his crew confront the #30 team (all 3 crew members) for riding around 12 mph off the pace and taking out a contender.

That will be an even bigger mess.

That dude was as nervous as a dog crapping peach seed's. He was visibly shaking. Worrying about Brian France using him as a scapegoat probably.

They did It all for the fans, they said. How did that work out for'em.

It's almost guaranteed to happen.

I asked why he was even attempting to race in cup. Why is he even? He tried this like 10 years ago or so. Didn't work out. Do they think he found the touch now or something?

I'd love to meet these so called "fans" who call for all these cute changes NASCAR makes. Don't think any of them are on this board. Or exist on this earth for that matter.

He tried it in 2001 while driving for a substandard AJ Foyt team. I don't think he ever got a real shot at it sadly.

I feel sorry for Ron but this is one phone call he shouldn't have taken.

If a team shows up to a Sprint Cup track with that little speed, they shouldn't even be allowed on the track. It's ridiculous. I'm all for the little teams having a chance but Jesus H. Christ...

Either give Hornaday, Mike Wallace, Josh Wise an actual motor or get them the **** outta here. 43 best teams my balls.

Theres a min speed for every track, right?

Especially when fully funded teams like Michael Annett or Alex Bowman, who actually compete for the entire race, are sent home for these rolling dumpster fire start parks. It's retarded.

Just got home... I'm on page 7 of this thread... WOW. I need a drink and to turn on my television. This sounds nuts.

Some of you need to take a chill pill. Arguing about NASCAR's handling of the situation is fruitless.

From what I've read, a large number of teams were not passing the first inspection because of
the rear camber. Maybe NASCAR didn't allow ample time for inspection, but the teams also were
pushing the envelope and got caught.

Quit attacking other posters for expressing their opinion about the situation.
If you don't agree with, ignore it.
