Tires at Darlington don't last long enough to have bead problems. Otherwise, I guarantee it.Do you think there will be tire or bead problems like Phoenix?

At Darlington, lapped traffic winds up that way because they abused their tires in the first place.I hate those races true racing comes from lapped traffic in the way
Not looking good for practice.

Let's hope "Hermine" stays on schedule and is out of there by Saturday night. It's predicted to dump 4-8 inches or more of rain.Or better yet, hope it swings way out to sea.
Had to do some digging in the NWS archives. I see that Friday's practice was completely rained out before the 1959 Southern 500 @ Darlington. Maybe this is Mother Nature's Throwback?I've looked at four different forecasts this morning. Every one assure Friday's practices will be a complete washout (90% or higher), but that the rain should move out well before noon Saturday. Sunday should be perfect.
I really enjoy Ricky on the idjit box.Was listening to Ricky Craven on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio talk about his win over Kurt Busch @ Darlington in 2003. Still one the most memorable wins in the history of the sport, for me anyhow. That guy's a calls act. Represents the sport well. Very knowledgeable and personable. He talked about how much that win meant and still means to him. Said that it pleases him to know how much it meant to NASCAR fans in general. Great stuff!
Maybe they'll try to squeeze in a practice session early Saturday, or maybe even 'Happy Hour' after the X race Saturday evening. Talk about throwback! We'll have some posters singing the competition caution blues......

I LOVE Norm Bennings. I understand he is popular with the other drivers and their crews. Have a great time!I know this is for the cup race.. Perhaps should make another thread but oh well...
Truck race in Canada this weekend.. And guess who is going to be on Norm Bennings crew.. Thats right.. This guy!
Not sure if anyone recalls my thread about Rob Taylor the NASCAR artist? Anyway.. Through his drawings he somehow got hooked up with Norm a few years back and has been helping him out during the race in Canada every year since.. This year he happened to need an extra guy and I got the call! Not sure exactly what Ill be doing yet.. Last year Rob was his spotter. All I know is Im getting paid with admission to the race and I cant wait!!

LOL well like I said Im not really sure what I'll be doing yet.. but I'll be sure to come in and keep everyone posted. From what I know we leave Saturday morning.. probably get there shortly after first practice.. soon as I know anything about anything it will be posted here for sure. I'm still a bit hesitant, it's kind of hard to believe lol so hopefully everything happens the way I think it will. All I've had to do so far was give my drivers license number and I'm told we're all good to go.. So far all I know is we're on the 63 team.. the guy who hooked me up with this is sort of a joker so until I'm there and have met Norm I'm still unsure of what will go on lolI'll DVR it. Remember to wave to us!
