anyone got a link to the full starting grid? cant seem to find it

@bobpockrass

AccuWeather forecast for Darlington is more than 4 inches of rain today-tonight. Less than 10%chc rain after 8am Saturday thru Sunday.

I believe it's good to go. Why don't you go on up and get you a ticket and enjoy yourself.

Is it raining there today yet? Will some practice get in?
The forum is very fortunate to have a member who goes to a great deal of trouble to ensure that the rest of us are fully and currently informed.

Please thank him for his effort by reading what's posted ... in this case, see # 86. Try this before you ask the next question that pops into your head. Thanks in advance for taking care of that.

Thanks but it's not really that big a deal. People only get out of the forum from the effort that they put in. Some just aren't interested in reading everything that we post.

Had the schedule all lined up to watch the retro cars practice. CURSES!

Guess I'll go find a bird to shoot.

I take it you've never camped in the infield @ Talladega. ;)

Nope, I haven't, but a couple buddies of mine have and they told me about the mud and the madness after it rained a lot. One of them was pretty wrecked from alcohol beverages and got his legs ran over in the mud fest and did not get hurt. LOL.

Really wish they would try and qualify at some point tomorrow

My favorite weekend of the year! College football returns and the Southern 500!!

Go 'Noles!

At Darlington, lapped traffic winds up that way because they abused their tires in the first place.

Hopefully the officials will go retro and not throw bogus yellows and if that happens there should be about a dozen cars on the lead lap toward the end.

Great Southern 500 - maybe the best ever:

For non - old school folks - yes - nascar was even worse back in the day. They didn't even know who won until after the checkers. This is an awesome video. Most of it is boring stuff but there was a big fireiry wreck about halfway through that I wouldn't normally mention except the driver got our okay. I loved how the announcer - famous guy - Jim McKay - kept calling the king "Dick Petty" - LOL. Then it looked like Junior Johnson had won the race!

Chris Economaky (sp?) was also a big player in the announcing. It was on the "Wide World of Sports" so I think it was only non-stop in the South.

Then they said Larry Frank had won after the checker - no burnouts - just arguments.

Probably a few fights in the pits to boot :D

Richard was originally known as Dick.

I really enjoy Ricky on the idjit box.

I have heard him a couple of times and he doesn't seem genuine to me but that certainly doesn't mean it is so.

By crikey them thangs look like stock cars......how cool is that!

Looking forward to Ken and Ned in the booth again this year.

It will be great listening to Ken talk about Dan Patrick, Bob Kezelowski and Mark Martin in the 6 car.

Jack Smith goes over the guardrail during the 1958 Southern 500. The 3rd driver to leave the track during the race.

I think the last driver to leave the track while a race was in progress was Shrub Busch at Texas.

We may have the first NASCAR MOTOR BOAT RACES

I love motor boating.

AfterI saw Greg Biffle in Winter heat I can not believe how much he has fallen

Watching practice to see all the paint schemes. I feel like whoever the commentator is that interviewed Kenseth should have known that the Craven-Busch finish was in the spring 400-mile race, not the Southern 500..

I still have no idea how Smith won here on old tires, and I was there. Talk about the crowd not sitting down for the final laps.
