Is the 150 degrees track temperature Friday too hot for Goodyear's tires ?

Yes. That's why Goodyear has announced that before mounting the tires, the inner liners will be replaced with donut-shaped 'dry ice' inserts. They will then be stored in an environmentally controlled 'reefer' trailer set at -78F so the inserts do not melt. Tires will transported from the hauler to the teams in new custom containers provided under a promotional agreement with Yeti coolers.

What the heck is with you and tires? Did your baby bottle have a valve stem?

Hopefully no nude men climbing fences cautions this race.

2006 - Kevin Harvick (Chevrolet)
2007 - Jimmie Johnson (Chevrolet)
2008 - Jimmie Johnson (Chevrolet)
2009 - Denny Hamlin (Toyota)
2010 - Denny Hamlin (Toyota)

2012 - Clint Bowyer (Toyota)
2013 - Carl Edwards (Ford)
2014 - Brad Keselowski (Ford)
2015 - Matt Kenseth (Toyota)

I look for the Toyotas to be strong this weekend. They haven't been as dominant the last few races compared to the beginning of the season. Don't know if NASCAR caught on and changed a rule or if other teams finally caught up. They are still the cars to beat though, imo.

Bout time for a good Richmond race. If there's a track that been in a serious excitement drought it's this one.

Wasn't a fan of the spring race

No race is going to please everyone. I thought the spring race at Richmond was a great race with multiple racing lanes, little sign of adverse aero effects, a perfect tire selection, and a close battle for the win to the very end with a last lap pass for the win. And the race was very highly rated by the forum vote, ranking 4th highest of all races so far this year. If this race matches that one, we will be twice blessed at Richmond this year. Just my $0.02.

The most refreshing thing this year: There isn't likely to be much Chase drama, so perhaps the commentators will actually focus on the race. I've come to dislike Fall Richmond because of the constant barrage of 'points as they run', 'if the race ended now' etc all for drivers who have an almost 0 shot of actually winning the championship.

Not typically my driver's best track but one of my favorites on the circuit

After nascar dropped the hammer on Newman today there is zero drama as far as the chase goes. Only story will be if he can win the race which he hasn't shown he's capable of doing this year.

The biggest story will be whether or not Buescher makes it in, but the September Richmond race lost most of its drama when the current chase format was implemented.

I don't think that Bowyer fella will be challenging for the win this year. Maybe the 22 will replace him.

I swear, I have walked around all week thinking this race was going to be in Michigan. Don't ask me why; I just got it stuck in my head for some reason.
