A 14 hour day for Richmond race fans today. Thinking back, it really wasn't all that long ago that we hardly got to see anything on television NASCAR related. Now it's end to end coverage of the goings on at the track during a race weekend. We all luv to bi!ch about the coverage but at least we've got the total coverage to complain about. Things ain't so bad.

Now excuse me while I go post in the.....

This week's "NBC sucks", "Rick Allen is annoying", "I miss DW and FOX" thread...

I thought this was a cool pic from RIR this morning. New NASCAR fans born today?..... possibly.

About to experience NASCAR for the first time ever!

Richmond is one of Kahne's better tracks.

Hendrick dragged a motivational speaker in to address the 5 team a week or so ago.

There were two speakers. Some guys named Tim Sheets and Todd Drakulich.

Meh. It's a toss-up.

We'll see if it bears any forbidden fruit on Saturday night.

Mears fastest in final practice. Maybe the more powerful motors ruin tire and brakes quicker

He was quick over a lap, but if you saw his onboard he was about as loose as anyone else out in the field.

He will shred his tires for sure if he continues to be that loose.

Cool thank you . I think these cars are too loose. I'm not this is the best aero package option. I think we need a different
aero package each track.

@bobpockrass

Austin Dillon apologized for being late to his media session. Said he was behind five drivers in the "piss test" (random drug test).

Just wondering if the National Anthem guideline at the bottom is a part of the handout every week or is it a reflection on what's been going on in the NFL recently.
I noticed the part about facing the music if you can't face toward a flag. If you can't locate a flag to face toward on pit road at the start of a NASCAR race, you have bigger problems that which direction to point yourself.

I'm not sure. I've never really noticed. I've posted those handouts before but never read that that I can remember. It's a shame that it has to be spelled out what to do but that's what this world has come to. I guess that's more fodder for the Podium so I digress.

I wasn't aware that there were rules for what to do when the country flag was displayed. I don't want to live in a country where I'm required to act in a specific manner. Screw Brian France for attempting to dictate behavior.
FWIW, I remove my hat for the flag and I'm standing with my hand over my heart during the National Anthem (and I'm pissed off at any other citizen that doesn't do the same) not because I'm required to do so, but because I am respectful and I'm happy to be here. A free society that attempts to dictate behavior is not a free society.

In the race tomorrow night, Jamie Mac needs to stay as far away from Newman as he can, because we all know what Newman will do in a situation like this, just sayin.

First, for those who also weren't aware: http://www.legion.org/flag/code

Second, you're contradicting yourself. You don't want to live in a country where you're required to act in a specific manner, then you complain about others who choose to not act in that specified manner.

I and eight members of my family gave assorted chunks of our lives to defending the country and Constitution the flag represents. That includes defending the First Amendment. I defended it so others could exercise that 'free speech' right. That included defending it even if I didn't agree with what they legally chose to say or do.

this chase format is faker than a blind date between my cousin who was not allowed outside with a blond cheerleader
Yes, but that's because the cheerleader was also your cousin.

When are you leaving for Switzerland?
