That was an enjoyable short track season. Now its time to
put some wind back in the sails and fly around Dega.
Weather trending for a nice cool weekend.

Woo let's throw some plates on these cars and get at it! Just an awesome track

Can't wait for Brad to put on another clinic like last year. All you fool saying plate racing is luck can suck Penske exhaust for 500 miles.

Our driver and myself just came back from Hendricks shop and they were finishing up the cars for Dega. They took us back to the room where they were stripping the sheet metal off of Jr's car that he drove in Richmond, and it looked like he had a pretty rough time there.:)

Ratings will be down 100% in my house this week.

Not surprised, there are a few teams that are for the most part running just the plate races.
That's what I'd do if I was a nonchartered team, offers the highest chances of a good reward if you can stay out of trouble

Same here, it makes total sense , but like mentioned, that chance of high reward comes with the same high chance of a totaled car.

True, but also the highest chance of a totaled car.
Nope, plenty of room to stay out of trouble. Make laps out of the draft, go through the pits when the pack needs to get around you, and collect 28th place money.

I can't go to the Talladega race, but I will be leaving the Commerce Ga dragstrip Sun evening heading west past Talladega, and the Nascar haulers will be leaving Talladega at about the same time heading east past the Commerce dragstrip. I usually start meeting them around Atlanta and it is always a pretty neat light show they put on going down the road. The Hendrick haulers have 36 lights on their back door alone.

Hoping Jr pulls it off to turn his season around or Chase this weekend. Alabama and Georgia would explode if Chase wins.

TIRE CODES

Tire: Goodyear Eagle Superspeedway Radials

Set limits:
Cup: 2 sets for practice, 1 set for qualifying and 6 sets for the race
Xfinity: 4 sets for the event

Tire Codes:
Left-side -- D-4596; Right-side -- D-4630

Tire Circumference:
Left-side -- 87.91 in. (2,233 mm)
Right-side -- 88.39 in. (2,245 mm)

Minimum Recommended Inflation:
Left Front -- 27 psI Left Rear - 27 psi
Right Front -- 50 psi Right Rear -- 50 psi

Storyline - Set-up Sets Stage for Stage Strategy: Talladega shares a left-side tire recommendation with its sister restrictor plate track in Daytona. The asphalt at Talladega has become somewhat more abrasive since its repave in 2010, requiring a right-side tread compound change in 2014 for improved wear. This tire combination leads to multiple pit strategies, which may become even more interesting with NASCAR's new stage format.

Notes: Teams in both the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Xfinity Series will run the same tire set-up at Talladega this weekend . . . for Sprint Cup teams, this combination of left- and right-side tires dates back to October 2014 . . . for Xfinity teams, since they don't run at Talladega in the fall, they started running this tire set-up in May 2015 . . . teams in both of these series also ran this left-side code at Daytona in February . . . as on all NASCAR ovals greater than one mile in length, teams are required to run inner liners in all four tire positions at Talladega . . . air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.

Personally , I attend the race because I have a rather large appetite for 3x13 racing .
Blue Angels on steroids.

I took my wife to her first race at Darlington in 2015. She grew up loving jet fighters and air shows and went to Michigan for Aerospace Engineering. The first time the field came by under green she was hooked.

She's always wanted to go the Kentucky Derby when it fell on her birthday, this Saturday is the first time it's happened since we met. I had arrangements made to go, then she asked if we could go to Talladega instead.

We'll be there Saturday and Sunday.

That a girl. You got a keeper there! Have fun. Perfect trending forecast so far. If ya'll find time,
run through the museum there at the ticket office.
