We all need a woman like that!I took my wife to her first race at Darlington in 2015. She grew up loving jet fighters and air shows and went to Michigan for Aerospace Engineering. The first time the field came by under green she was hooked.
She's always wanted to go the Kentucky Derby when it fell on her birthday, this Saturday is the first time it's happened since we met. I had arrangements made to go, then she asked if we could go to Talladega instead.
We'll be there Saturday and Sunday.
I've been trying to get the woman to agree to attend a race. She HAAAATES NASCAR (is a drag racing fan only)....was your wife completely against the sport prior to her going to Darlington, or did she keep an open mind? Any suggestions of how I can convince my wife to go to a race would be greatly appreciated.I took my wife to her first race at Darlington in 2015. My Darling Bride has tagged along on occasion, mostly on rain-delay dates when I'd otherwise be by myself. She usually does crosswords with her headphones set to a music station. She will admit that it's a much better experience at the track than on the tube. She still hates the old #18 souvenir hauler for not having any actual M&M'sI've been trying to get the woman to agree to attend a race. I was lucky in that she's a huge sports fan. I half joke that I married her for her memorabilia collection. She enjoyed her first race, but she really got hooked when we rented intercoms and a scanner for the second one.
Rusty was driving like an idiot that day..... He was hitting every car on the track...... He looked like a pinball before wrecking.on this day 24 years ago, Ernie Irvan wins the Winston 500, and Rusty Wallace went for a wild ride.
This car with Davey Allison driving won here Talladega 30 years ago this week.
I did not know the bleachers were color coded that far back.
.Apparently Logano is still sporting the winners sticker this weekend.....
If you look closely, you can see that it's somewhat slightly encumbered as it's running a little low.
Not to be confused with 'Big E' & the #3I still think it needs a big scarlet "E" lol or better yet about 1/5 scale..about as much as that win counted.
Exactly 1/32 low...Apparently Logano is still sporting the winners sticker this weekend.....

The GEICO flag and wall paint, Dude. The purple 'pop up' tent. They just showed this car from the track. So, those bleachers aren't from 30 years ago. That had me cornfused.
