Anyone going to the race the weekend be safe!! There's a major LPGA event in Chicago this weekend and there's serious concern over player safety. Yesterday a few players commented how they battled dizziniss to feeling as if they were going to pass out.

To hold this race during the day when there's lights is idiotic!! Just brutally hot!!

Looking at the weather forecast earlier, I was half hoping that heavy afternoon rain would cause the race to be delayed until later Sunday evening when it should be somewhat cooler.

However, the more recent forecast now calls for the rain to hold off until later in the afternoon
 
For various contractual and logistical reasons, sometimes there isn't much more than that they can do. Have you ever seen a baseball game or a golf tournament change their start time?

Would you rather they'd run those commercials DURING the qualifying rounds instead of BETWEEN them? o_O

This impound thing has thrown everything into the air IMO. Instead of my homer stuff, I will point to a certain #4 who qualified outside of the top 12. It will certainly be interesting......plus the starting line up has not gone final yet. YOU GO OSS!!!!!!!

They still have to get thru tech after qualifying. So I bet some of them are going to the back
 
Cool to see Menard win the pole. Nice chaser to a likely Harvick beatdown during the race itself.

Yes it is. Instead of cars failing and never even going out for qualifying they had to qualify then pass. Bottom line, bring a car that will pass tech. Quit blaming NASCAR for team failures.
 
He doesn't know what an impound race is. They don't inspect them before the race but after qualifying and then they impound them

looks like the final tally, plus Stenhouse who had to replace a pinched brake line.
Four NASCAR Cup Series teams had their qualifying times disallowed, meaning they will hold starting positions 36-39 on the starting grid at Chicagoland: Martin Truex Jr. (qualified 12th), Denny Hamlin (4th), Jimmie Johnson (22nd) and Chris Buescher (23rd).

Passing tech is a crapshoot. Probably won't find a crew chief who doesn't agree with me. This is not good for the sport.
