The dumb thing should be set up like this:

P1 #3......P2 #11
P3 #22....P4 #20
P5 #48....P6 #78
etc.

That's the way the cars will line up on the track.

I read the chart left to right as well thinking the 3 was on Pole and the 42 2nd... too many years of watching racing

I’ll take Top 12 shootout any week. Better than that nonsensical group stuff they tried here a few years ago and the typical knockout stuff we see most weeks.

Same as last year. I forget what 2016 was.

I don't think I like having two rounds for single-car format. The cars that go out earliest are those that were slowest in practice. The fastest practicing cars go out last, theoretically will have the fastest Round 1 times, but will have the least amount of time to cool the engine back down.

Disclaimer - none of this should be interpreted as favoring either single-car or three-round formats.
