No streaming that I could find this year. What does that say?

Anyhow, there's a bunch of interviews and other things going on today.

I think it's just because there's no major change this year. They usually have something like a championship or format change to reveal.

...and it begins. Haven't even made it to Daytona yet and foot has already met mouth.

Does he really not get it? Amazing.
It's not his job to get it. I'll admit I don't get all of it. I'm less interested in how they're going to attract new fans to new drivers, and more concerned with how they'll attract new fans to the sport itself.

Rotating the tracks annually wouldn't be a problem if NASCAR would just pull the trigger and give the tracks the schedule for the next five or six years. To avoid weather issues, they could rotate the first five tracks between themselves, and keep the last five in warmer climates on a different rotation.

If Homestead is somehow sacred, at least rotate the three races within each playoff round.

It ain't that hard.

It's not his job to have common sense? I guess that's fair.

People aren't interested in rooting for a machine, they want to know who's operating it every week, who's sitting behind that windshield. Of course they're going to push the athletes to try and pique a person's interest.

I'm really starting to wonder if people on here watch other sports. Literally every sports league, even the PGA tour, promotes their athletes as their key selling point. In particular, their young, rising star athletes.

Bowman and Chase both had good interviews on Tradin' Paint just a bit ago. JJ coming up soon.

I agree with you, but you're not critiquing what he said. He didn't understand why younger drivers were hyped over older ones, not why drivers are promo'ed at all.

I think Kyle is just a tad bit upset that he's not the hot young gun anymore and he's closer to retirement than he was when he first started in NASCAR MENCS

If I had to guess it's probably because they don't want to lose their entire fan base when these guys all start to retire. Not that it would happen but I'd bet that some would stop following the sport. Besides that, these established veterans don't really need much promoting. They've made their names and are probably better known outside of the NASCAR world more than we realize.

I could be way off, but I honestly think that NASCAR no longer wants to have one dominant driver amongst the fans. Now that there's no longer an Earnhardt their ideal vision would probably be to have 10-12 drivers with large followings instead. Which I actually could get behind. I think that would be fun.

I mean I don’t get it either.. I know chase or the 24 car is is who u root for.. but these young guns haven’t didn’t anything lol.. chase gets treated like a GOD and haven’t even won a race yet.. so I get where Kyle is coming from.. it’s common sense that he does have and says he doesn’t get it.. it’s ok to promote them but chase gets way to much attention and he hasn’t even won a race.. I watch football basketball and yes they promote the athletes that’s winning , not because their father played the game or because there nice like chase is lol.. they promote them because they are winning big difference

Ehh. They promote guys that perform well. If they only promoted who won they wouldn't have many to talk about. Especially in the NBA/NFL. Chase finished top 10 and top 5 in points in his first 2 seasons and was a regular at the front of the field. He's going to get talked about just from that alone without the 24/Elliott name stuff being considered. With the #1 argument against him being "he hasn't won", that means we're only 1 win away from it being justified, right? Therefore to me, it's probably about time to embrace the guy cause that win won't elude him forever.

So who in the NBA/NFL they talk about that’s not winning lol?? Please tell me they never talk about teams or players that keep coming up short.. so please tell me I been watching those sports all my life..

MJ son played college basketball and he was ok , but half the world prob never heard of him .. you know why? Because he was just ok he wasn’t good lol and that’s MJ son best the best basketball player ever!! It’s a lot different in NASCAR ..

Lakers and Cowboys
Lakers got talked about when they was winning championships. I never hear anyone talk about them now unless your a die hard laker fan. I know plenty of laker fans and they never mention them anymore.. same goes for cowboys... they barley so lakers on tv lol..

And Bill Elliott's son is a lot more than 'ok', and that's why we're hearing about him.

Yes. Embrace it.

STICK AND BALL ALERT.

For most sports, there's a cheap way for talented kids to develop their skills. It's called high school sports. You can try out without needing a bank roll. If you're any good at that level, colleges will trip over themselves to give you additional career development, no matter who your parents are.

In racing, it takes a lot of money to learn your trade. There are no high school motorsports programs providing equipment, coaching, and travel. Young drivers with parents who have the money, experience, and connections have a big advantage. Those who don't often need their families to make major financial and lifestyle sacrifices.

I’m not here to argue with u but I do feel Kyle.. like I said these guys aren’t winning on a day to day basis .. and chase hasn’t even won yet.. of course the vets feel a certain way .. if u was in there shoes u would too

I think Kyle occasionally forgets that a lot of young kids eats M&M's. I will give him credit of not giving us standard corporate speak. The easy way out would have been to state how good it is for the sport, but he spoke what he thought. Good for him.

Just because you get a good ride doesnt mean your last name will carry you if you dont show talent. You can bust on Elliott all you want but the kid is very good and WILL be a winner. One well placed bumper already told us that.
