2018 NASCAR Media Day

I agree with Kyle Busch.

When Jimmie Johnson won five straight championships, NASCAR and the media were hyping up Joey Logano as the future Jeff Gordon, then started hyping Chase Elliott up as a future greatest driver ever in the history of ever of all time. Meanwhile, Jimmie Johnson was making history left and right.
and I doubt JJ is complaining, his net worth keeps climbing and sooner or later he will have enough. :D

Now it's Kurt Damn Busch

Kurt Busch: Some drivers getting a "free pass to become a superstar"
https://www.motorsport.com/nascar-c...ing-a-free-pass-to-become-a-superstar-999387/

He isn't wrong, nor was Kyle.

At the same time, its the media pushing certain drivers. Goes back to what Kyle is saying, I had no problems with Kyle's comments, but the youth movement is coming and people are going to either embrace it or not. At the same time, we see some drivers being forced upon us. Its the medias fault for it all.

Kurt stated this much better than Kyle did though.

Glad someone understands what the Busch brothers are trying to say instead of bashing them.. it’s easy to understand

I understand Toyota has them lined up three deep behind ol Kyle and so much as a hiccup and Gibbs will cut his throat. :D So yeah he is going to squawk. You Kyle people keep eating your M&M's

I for one don't get the complaining by either of the Busch Bros. There's not a damn thing wrong with promoting the next generation of the sport. Kyle's got his share of the fan pie. So does Kurt. There are long time fans and new fans of the sport that may be looking for someone to root for. Especially with the recent retirement's by some. Why not a driver getting their start in this sport? There's no written or unwritten rule that a fan can only be a fan of someone with a long history of success in the sport.

Why do y’all keep saying there complaining?? It’s facts.. it’s not like their making this stuff up.. every last thing Kyle said was a fact and even NASCAR said it was facts.. so how is he complaining??

He even said he has his own fans and didn’t want there fans all dude said was he don’t understand all the hype there getting .. what’s wrong with that?? Just like Kurt said chase doesn’t even have a win and getting talked about more than anyone lol that’s crazy! NASCAR is the only sport where stats don’t really matter and popularity outweighs stats.. just how Harvick didn’t understand how dale jr won most popular driving when he wasn’t even winning.. this is the same thing Harvick was saying ..

Pretty much every time kybu gets in front of a camera he has foot in mouth disease. I don't blame them for looking elsewhere. That's my opinion, like it or lump it.

Both are expressing dissatisfaction that these younger, unproven drivers are being promoted. While you don't like the term 'complaining' being used. That's the definition of complaining.

They have a problem with it. I don't. Simple as that. Anything more that I could say would only be repeating my opinion over and over again. That gets old. When anyone does that, it gets old.

Who gives a **** if these guys like it or not. Let's just hope it causes some bitter tension in the ranks of NASCAR and the drivers race each other as hard as humanly possible. It will be entertaining as hell to watch the future try to upstage the present/pass all while the older dogs are looking to hold on. Lean on each other and rub and cause problems. Go for it.

It has been happening for years. Older drivers "complaining" about the younger drivers not following the always changing "drivers code", not giving "respect" uw waa uw waa..Usually right after they got out drove. This latest B.S. is pre whining. Like crying when you see the nurse about to give you a shot.

Poor little Kyle only gets M&M's.

You're exactly right. This has been going on at least since the mid 70's. Remember all the fuss Darrell Waltrip caused? What Darrell realized was that as a young nobody in the sport, he had to stand out, and one of the ways he did so was to always make time for the media and to always be interesting , articulate and provocative and have something to say other than "the darn car blew up." As was suggested, with the possible exception of Dale Earnhardt, most fans don't pick a driver that has already been on the scene for more than a decade, so how much good does it do to promote the old timers? I also think some of these older guys were a victim of NASCAR's success, when everybody thought all they had to do is just show at the track every week and the fans would all just bow at their feet. The situation has changed now, and I think NASCAR to some extent, and certainly the drivers are beginning to understand that they need to promote themselves more, and not just go through the motions. How many veteran drivers would each lunch with fans at a test like Ryan Blaney did? God only knows how many new fans he made that day for just ONE gesture. Last year at Indy, I got to meet Alex Bowman. He did a Q&A on stage in the Chevy corral and then stayed and signed autographs until every single person had been served. Would Kyle or Kurt do that? Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt? I think the whole topic is much ado about nothing anyway. At least compared to the old days, I don't see ANY of these young guys getting the kind of attention that Jeff Gordon, or Dale Jr, or Danica, or even a young Kyle Busch got. That's right, I remember being told until I wanted to repeatedly puke how great Kyle was every damn week during the race all the while mostly underachieving in the series that really counts. Lets us not forget that until a couple of short years ago, Kyle was basically a ten year veteran who had yet to win a championship or even win any of the BIG races, yet all we heard was how great Kyle was while Jimmie was winning Daytona, Charlotte, Indy, and collecting championships like they were postage stamps. I am especially confused about all of the Chase Elliott complaints because I just don't see THAT much promotion (and I'm always looking for it). And, as I stated here before, half the time it seemed like was TV completely ignoring Chase after the race. After one of the races, I think it was Truex, (who in fairness was the race winner) get interviewed for the THIRD time before getting even a 10 second quote from Chase, who finished second or third.

Hence Darrells nickname "Jaws". He ran his mouth all the time. It rubbed a lot of the established drivers wrong. But, As Junior Johnson said, "it ain't braggin' if you can do it"' DW backed it up. I seem to recall Earnhardt Sr. dubbing Gordon "Wonderboy". Sr. poked at him from time to time. Poking fun at someone is one thing, to act bitter is another. If you have a rub with the rookies and newcomers, whip em on the track.

Didn't see a thing in the article that wasn't true. Had Chase entered the sport in a back marker car we would be saying how good he is because he got a top 15 finish and is the son of Bill Elliot.
That’s what I’m saying man lol.. people act like this guy isn’t driving the best of the best of the best best equipment hahaha.. he isn’t any different from none of the other upcoming drivers accept he is in the best equipment and bill Elliot son, if that wasn’t the case we prob wouldn’t even be talking bout this dude
