Really wish NXS and Trucks in would have a standalone weekend. At least there's other sports
A huge opportunity they arnt racing Saturday. They should be on a bullring in the south somewhere racing by themselves. It’s insane there’s no racing next weekend, Easter is Sunday I know but there can be an Xfinity race on Saturday

A race at Rockingham (since Cup is unrealistic most likely in 2021) or Five Flags would be nice.

I don't like rp racing these days because of the ridiculousness of which the current drivers race with. There appears to be little to no regard for wrecking. Far too often the race is one giant demo derby that ends in at least one G-W-C attempt. It's NASCAR's version of insanity. With that said, i'll take 'Dega of Daytona any day. The fact that it's so much wider allows for a lot of more elbow room. Plus, the cars are more stable through the tri-oval at Talladega.

I absolutely love the mystique and aura that is Talladega. When i watch older races on Youtube I always gravitate to 'Dega. Those summer Die Hard 500's were something to behold. It was a true test of stamina for all that were there....

As always, I just hope for a safe race for all involved...

This is going to be fascinating, honestly. My biggest question is.....Will Penske continue its obvious domination on what we used to call plate tracks? I can't wait. Much intrigue added to this race. Practice will be interesting....for once at this track.

If this race is anything like last year, where the stages were slightly longer than the fuel window, causing the cars to scatter, resulting in one of the worst races in talladega’s history, I’m done for the year. I’m pretty much at rock bottom as far as being entertained.

Someone didn't watch last night.

At one point in the 90's they forced teams to run smaller fuel tanks at the 'Dega and Daytona in an attempt to try and break up the packs. I actually like Talladega when there is some separation.

There can be both Trucks and Xfinity races all in one day of practice/qualifying and 2 races same day. Do this at a track that Nascar does NOT usually race at and check the fan appreciation.

Joey is the best active driver at Talladega. Change my mind.
:D

I couldn't help but notice you didnt highlight the wins category :D
Joey's stats in general at Talladega are wild. Could we be making the argument soon that he is possibly better than Brad at plate tracks?

I would have said that years ago. Brad is good.. great even.. but even as far back as JGR Nationwide days Joey showed his skill on this track type and now it's very evident in cup. Top 5s in 5 of the last 7 Dega races including 3 wins.. and the ones he didnt get a top 5 he wrecked and didnt even finish the race. So basically if he doesnt wreck he will be a threat for the win on the final lap. Plus there has only been 2 times in the past 20 years or so(I dont remember exact number of laps or who or when) that someone led the final 40 or more laps at Talladega and it was him both times.

No guarantee we won't see tandem drafting with this package, as some "experts" have mentioned. Superspeedway tracks is now my term for Dega and Tona
They are still "plate tracks" to me. It is a grandfathered term for at least a decade, maybe forever. Just consider this... every week you hear someone say, "to the end of the longest line" describing a penalty for speeding in the pits or something. Well, NASCAR hasn't had two separate lines since double file restarts... over a decade. That's grandfathered too..:dual9mm:

They said longest line when it was single file? Hmm

And now with TJ Majors who is exceptional at plate track (or whatever they're called now) spotting, he's definitely number 1 to me. Brad is 2A and Denny is 2B. I think Hamlin in a Ford would be unbeatable at these tracks.

Yes absolutely. Tab is good but TJ's skill as a spotter on superspeedways is undeniable.

Joey and Brad are both 8/1 in pre-race odds. Both have dominated Dega, two of the best defensive drivers in nascar on the plate tracks. Joey's power move in the duals at Daytonia was a serious show of power.

Full disclosure I only have 1 nascar hat, it's a 22 hat, bought it just before the Martinsville chromehorn, sentimental.

Like they’ve always said it’s more the car at restrictor plate tracks. I think Brad and Joey are good drivers but the cars are really good as well. Ford has more HP that’s for sure.

Legitimate question for future reference, are there any seats at Talladega or Daytona you could see the whole track? I'd like to go to speedweeks or Talladega Spring (Cup, NXS, ARCA, Talladega Short Track) in the future.
