2021 Silly Season

who would you rather work for, bell or kyle?

I don't know honestly. @StandOnIt will hit the "Like" button on anything even remotely anti-KFB, but what about the sweet contract Bell has without winning a damn thing? Does a crew chief even have the ability to go to management and say, "He doesn't have it?" With a guy like that, the crew chief will always be at fault, and will probably never get any credit. With KFB, you get a couple of rings. I hope like hell that Adam gets some rings out of the deal. Adam is a great guy. I am a HUGE fan.

Technical alliance with SHR (possibly like GoFas) and Matt Tiffts family money.

Seems a little unfair to dismiss this team already considering GoFas wasn’t that bad........... they were much quicker than Ware, Spire, Gaunt, Carl Long.

B.J. McLeod doesn't have a top ten, or a top 5 and has led one lap out of about 6,000 in all of the three series, Trucks, Xfinity, or Cup. That's 39 truck races, 156 Xfinity races, and 57 Cup races. So you go ahead and be the SPCA for back marker drivers.

Lmao put him in a Gibbs car like the rest and I’m sure he could rip. Let’s cut down to 29 car fields then. Corey Lajoie hasn’t done jack either. I guess Daniel Suarez is a backmarker driver for driving for Gaunt.

Last I checked somebody has to be a backmarker. Nobody in the field complains about McLeod & usually praise his ability to get out of the way.

But nice little insult “SPCA” I’m sure.

Well ol bud you can get all twisted up like a pretzel if you choose to. I made a statement "instant back marker" but I sure as hell didn't imply to all of this drama. I didn't say anything pro or con about it. Just stated a fact.

I was just curious was “SPCA” meant.

As far as it being a backmarker, you’re right, but at least it ain’t a Ware ****box and they’re out there at least somewhat trying.

I have a hard time seeing this team not being somewhat competitive when they are aligning with SHR like the 32 did.

If a driver brings money i could see McLeod hopping out pretty easily

IMO as you know affiliations go from full on everything, to having nothing but SHR shocks on the car(figure of speech). They obviously can't afford much for an affiliation or driver or B.J. McLeod wouldn't be in the car.

I dunno, if running BJ leaves more money to spend with SHR, it may be a good move. Over the last few years, I've started to develop the opinion that the difference between top-5 and bottom-10 cars is much wider than the difference between top-5 and bottom-10 drivers. Look at what Bowman and DiBenedetto have done since they got into some quality hardware. =IF= the affiliation with SHR yields any benefits, BJ may be as able to take advantage of them as anyone else currently available.

Sure, the team will be a back marker this year, but will it be one with a high number of DNFs, or one that manages to lead a lap or two during pit cycles? Will the affiliation bring some drafting help at the plate tracks?

No but when daddy’s money is significant money, it can keep them afloat and better than the other backmarker teams
Mom actually, she's a well known commodity in the Clinical Healthcare field.

@kkfan91 I think Charlie was being sarcastic (facetious) about that statement. He's basing it off the fact some members think NASCAR is going to bend over backwards for him because Jordan.

well to me that is the interesting part. I don't have a lot of faith in B.J in whatever he is driving time will tell we'll see. I have never seem BJ pull a slower car faster because of his driving. :idunno:

McLeod drives so many cars because he's a solid shoe and he doesn't wreck cars very often.

Driving his own car, JD Motorsports, and for DGM because he's not only a solid driver, but in some cases jumped on top of the box to be a CC.

Say what you want, but I think looking at others who drive his cars at some point... McLeod honestly is better than what the stats say, he's always done well in mediocre cars for the most part. No top 10 finishes, but no technical alliances, no big money behind him either.

You are the farthest thing away from a fact checker. Tell me again Uncle @StandOnIt how hungry Kyle Larson is gonna be. <Sits crossed legged listening intently>
Once upon a time there was this really fast dirt race car driver called Kyle Larson who drove for big pappa called Toyota. Big pappa came to Kyle one day and said Kyle could you drive an Xfinify car for us so he did. Kyle came to Big pappa later and said I have a lot of dirt car races I need to race and Big pappa said oh no Kyle you can't do that. Kyle said screw you Big pappa, I have a better offer and he lived happily ever after. Right Grampa?

I can't say that I've ever picked him for a fantasy line-up, not even at a plate track. I'm just no longer as quick to write off some of these guys who have never had a shot at even a second-tier ride.

Yeah I see what you are saying, but in my case I pointed out a very long career in all three of the series and the needle never moved, the guy never rose up and walked but opinions very. I think I'll lay down a plate of crow I will eat, if ol BJ builds a fire under his ass.

I've been wrong about more important stuff than this.

It's a big step backwards for JHN, Lessard had a terrible start to 2020 but he improved a lot toward the end.
It is, but this move has a future with the JGR Cup team in mind. Hamlin, Truex, and Ky. Busch are all getting older.

I say JHN moves up the JGR bracket and finds himself at JGR or 23XI sooner than later. This move, I hope he finds himself a home fr fr. I thought Ford was going to keep him within the fold, but it's moving backwards to move further forward IMO.

yeah I started cussing Lessard. He started running in the lead pack in a KDB truck and showing some skills. Good move KBM, get the body guys ready. I hope Lessard gets a ride, he caught on quick. I've had enough of watching Nemo, he doesn't use the best judgement IMO

Let's hope so.
Even though I think 23XI won't be around for so long.
