thanks its been a challenge the last two weeks but just trying to make some money and sales each day and survive. It's been a huge wake up call seeing the economy stop like this, scary really. Thanks again for the luck, might need itI have some broken snap-on tools can you warranty them? I'm just kidding. I wish you the best for your tool truck business.
Ive been in my area for almost 10 years, before that the guy was in my route for 30 plus years. So its a good route, my father got me into this hes still doing this on his route , has been since 1987. Warranty is warranty there's guys I go tell to bug off if they didnt buy from me, if they never buy from me or if I know they got it from the flee market. but I warranty for about 95% of my guys, we are in the service business after all but some guys are just turds and when I look at them they cost me money so I try to avoid that especially now in these challenging times. But I try to take care of everyone, especially if they are my guys. My guys pay my bills, I'll never forget that. Dealing with the actual company as a franchise has its challenges many I wont discuss here but its not easy and if I didnt have my father not sure I would have ever gotten into this. But I wont knock the company thats been around (now) 100 years and has been very good to me and my family. Its a privilege to do this and I dont think I'd have it any other way coming from corporate world USA.I was always bugged about how pissy some of the Snap-On people were about the warranty. Sears didn't care if you ran their tools through an auto shredder! I also thought that the tool companies didn't always do right by their tool truck people. It seemed in our area, if you built up a good business, they would shoehorn another truck into your territory and take half of your customers. It seems they didn't want anybody to do TOO god.
Ive always thought that was odd for that era and never seeing any of the logos on the car.Yeah, but back in the day, the manufacturers weren't offering much more than free sheet metal and maybe some engine parts if you were one of the big dogs. If you were a front running team, they would probably let you bring your Daytona 500 car to their wind tunnel. With possible rare exceptions, it wasn't until about 1984 that Chevy and Pontiac cars even carried brand logos. I think Herb Fishel sarted doing this when he ran the Buick program in the early 80's, and I think the 11, 22, and 33 cars may have been the only ones to carry the Buick logo. I remember one of the team owners being asked why his Chevy didn't have a bowtie on the hood. The answer? "When they pay me, I'll put it on there.".
Yeah I can't see Ross having any strings attached to driving the 6 car. It was on a per race basis in the first place. I would bet Roush would have to pull a driver out from somewhere if Newman calls it quits. It would surprise me if Newman did quit though.Even if Ryan isn't able to race again I'm not sure why they wouldn't put Ross in the 42 car. From my understanding he's already under contact CGR. Now who knows the terms of the agreement that CGR has with RFR for Ross, but it seems foolish to have to hire a driver because you're trying to help out another team, which is a different manufacturer, by letting him use the driver that you already have under contract.

This is more about Ross’ Xfinity series obligations than anything with the 6 car. Not sure what kind of deal Chip has with him. But I’d imagine Nutrien Ag and Kaulig Racing wouldn’t be pleased if Chastain bailed on running for the Xfinity title. They’ve pumped some money into that program. Lot of moving parts here.I agree. If Chastain is going to get the 42 car, then now is as good of time as any. A revolving door of drivers won't do the team any good, and with one single smooth transition, by the time we get back to real racing it will be old news, which for everybody involved would be a GOOD thing. Plus, with everything that has transpired, this would kind of end up being a freebie season for Ross. Not too much pressure or expectations.
Having Ross win an X championship in their car would make it easier for Kaulig to sign a competitive driver for whenever the 'next' season turns out to be.On the other hand, CGR MIGHT be able to make it Kaulig's best interest to let them have Chastain.

It would be nice if they could work together. I don't think Ross is a threat to win the Cup title in the 42 car, but he might have a shot in the Xfinity series. On the other hand the way things are shaking out who knows, Xfinity would take the hit on less races over Cup.I'd imagine that there would only be possibly a couple of events that a conflict would arise of him not being able to drive in both series. If that's the case I could see CGR getting a fill in driver for those couple races.
But in the end lets all not forget that this is nascar, so often things like common sense don't always apply. It really just comes down to who the sponsors want in the car
There is no testing except Nascar's is the problem there. I really think they should let the designated rookies have a certain number of tests sessions in all three series instead of throwing them to the wolves. Something like this when a driver gets hurt or ousted suddenly, should get a nod also. It would help with the safety aspect and better the show. All three series vehicles drive/race differently.Might be a situation of a test session for the 42. Maybe some burn for Chastain and Haley during this time to see?
Chastain is still hooked with Roush right now, too. I wonder of Daniel Hemric is trying to eek is nose in again, he is in Xfinity on a part-time schedule.
Oh no sir, not actual testing. I mean splitting the ride when the season comes back into motion. There is no testing except Nascar's is the problem there. I love your idea of Haley getting some time in the 42 thats intriguing to me.Might be a situation of a test session for the 42. Maybe some burn for Chastain and Haley during this time to see?

I'm luke warm on that idea. Haley has a sum total of 4 races in cup (and I like Haley). If I was Chip and I am not, I would want somebody with more experience with racing a cup car and the lack of experience at the tracks at the cup level would be a factor because it's usually expensive in the body shop when it comes to lack of experience.I love your idea of Haley getting some time in the 42 thats intriguing to me.
I didnt see that side of it. At this point Chip might just want to put Jamie Mac back in it for the season and go from there. But we dont know how the driver market is going to be shaped by this virus, I wouldnt want to be trying to find a driver right now....tough climate.I'm luke warm on that idea. one of the big question marks would be the stand a lone races of the trucks and Xfinity and those would be the only conflict for Chastain to not be able to run both. With this season the way it is shaping up, I could see those races disappearing this year anyway.I didnt see that side of it. Jamie may be acceptable to the sponsors and for Ross, negotiations will be required.I agree. If Chastain is going to get the 42 car, then now is as good of time as any. You should read over what you just said. The value for Chip is he has a driver that is qualified and liked by the sponsors, therefore sponsor money will flow which can be used to pay wages to other team members. Like I said "Ever sponsor will have to be negotiatedWell, they have plenty of time to figure it out. If these sponsors don't want to work with Ross, then he probably doesn't have much of a future at CGR. I just don't see much value in putting Jamie back in the car. It just doesn't accomplish anything going forward. It's not like Chip only has two or three days to plug in a replacement on short notice.

i don't think McMurray wants to get his hands dirty anymore. Ross has more of a fan base also.My point is that the McMurray is just a stop gap measure with no real upside. If CGR thinks Chastain is the ultimate answer, then the time to get that deal in place is NOW. This is not Jeff Gordon filling in for Dale Jr. McMurray might be a safe pick, but his odds of any great success are minimal and as a person he simply doesn't move the needle as far as attention goes. The 42 car would basically disappear the rest of the season. "IF" Chip can't sell the existing sponsors on Chastain, then he probably has no future at CGR and then the picture changes a little bit, but still I would rather give a potential 2021 driver some seat time than go back to the past and tread water.
I'd be surprised if some aren't gone when the engines start.Wondering if any sponsors are going to force the FORCE MAJEURE clause in their contracts?
Lots of companies will be hurt financially because of the current economic climate, wondering if any will force their exit from NASCAR because of this
SHR is where careers get rejuvenated. Bowyer, Busch, Almirola...Anyone think it is possible Stewart hires Larson after Bowyer decides to reture after this year.
Well a couple things come to mindAnyone think it is possible Stewart hires Larson after Bowyer decides to reture after this year.
