This is dependent on what sort of deal Carlin and Juncos make and whether Foyt run a third entry, I think. Either way it has to come from Chevy - Honda are out of full-time engine leases they can support without having to build new 2.2L powerplants. Apparently that is why Kirkwood wouldn’t fit at Andretti unless the F1 deal was completed and he could simply replace Herta.

 
DCR-VS is no more:

HMD is expected to take VS spot in partnership with Coyne next season. Either expect an independent entry or another co-owned entry with another organization. IMHO with Honda being capped out on engines, I think partnering with another team will be key. I feel as if Sato would be the best bet for VS with his influx of funds and experience level.

We have yet to see Malukas or Sato sign to DCR or any co-owned affiliate.
 

Article in RACER says his social media antics may have been the root cause of NBC's decision not to renew PT's contract. I don't know what he did on social media, but some people say Tracy is a MAGA-spewing racist. As I've never seen any of his social media posts, I'll leave that to others to comment.

My personal impression of PT in the announcers' booth is that he added very little except constantly whining about drivers deserving penalties for everything they do.

He’s been investigated a couple of times by NBC before his schedule was somewhat reduced last year but nothing ever came of them, apparently one of the guys at NBC Sports is/was a buddy of his so I’m not sure if something happened organizationally there or if it really was about pursuing more racing interests. Last year he steered clear of controversy.

Of course, those that did occur in the past didn’t put the series or broadcaster in a good light. Some of what you mentioned, but also when he divulged details of Wicken’s injuries a few years ago on Twitter before the family, series, or team could make their own release. The family was quietly pretty upset about that.

Hinch will do well if he gets the role and doesn’t have too many race conflicts, I thought he was good part-time in 2020. I’d like to see Jon Beekhuis brought back in some capacity too.
 
Sato winning the 500 with Rick Ware would be a banger, just sayin'.
He's also reported to be interested in the NHRA. Ware, that is, not Sato.
 
I wonder when he plans to get interested in results?

Jimmie Johnson is to run the full Indycar series next year. I came across the following story:

I think Johnson is a great driver but his performance last year was below my expectations. He will be running the Indy 500 next year and based on last year he will have trouble beating Kurt Busch's performance in the 500. It takes time to transition from one series to another (it is my opinion that any good driver can do well in any series - given enough time in the car).

"I’ve probably texted with PT a dozen times since the news broke, and he seems to be incredibly happy and has rediscovered a passion for racing that’s grown stronger since he did the SRX series last summer. As I wrote last week, he’s wanting to do SRX again and add in some IMSA racing, said they couldn’t come with a workable schedule for him to continue, and said the split with NBC Sports wasn’t ugly or negative.

According to PT, he isn’t a victim of a vendetta by RP, cancel culture, censorship, etc. If NBC wanted to fire him, it had all kinds of ammo to use years ago, and even leading into 2021, but they did not. And since he’s celebrated for telling it like it is, we should believe what he said about the reason behind split with NBC. He has nothing to lose by telling the truth. And as a closing aside, FOX, CBS, and ABC/ESPN all air motor races. If you want PT back whenever he might be free, let those networks know."
 
Big coup for AMSP as they manage to poach Newgarden’s race engineer of the past four seasons.

 
I’m glad he got that 500 victory with TK. He did a lot for AOWR for certain. We’ve lost too many important characters from the sport over the last year or so, sadly.
His leadership kept ChampCar afloat in working with Cosworth as well.

Hell of an leader as much as great of an owner he was, I'm glad he got his flowers early. His contribution and love for North American open wheel racing was about as crazy as they come, he will be missed greatly.
 
Kinda strange to me that in the FOX portion of the NASCAR season there’s only one conflict, then when NASCAR shifts to NBC there’s a bunch of races on at the same time. Also, no real night racing. But that’s one of the prices to pay for so many network broadcasts I suppose.

I'm very suprised both Iowa races are daytime races.
