Once again we got lucky. The waves did arrive but were greatly degraded. Watching the news this morning, the only reported damage is a little flooding in Hilo. I was impressed at how everyone took the threat seriously and did the right thing. Had there been a serious impact, the human tragedy would have been at a minimum. Bullet dodged, coffee made, back to work…

I reactivated the sprinkler system last night, so of course it rained today. 2.5 inches, with a strong chance of more on the way (90% Fri night, 70% Sat and Sat night).

I’m actually starting to believe that it’s a real possibility we might not hit 100 degrees at all this year. The highest forecasted temperature for the next 14 days is 96 degrees. This Summer actually hasn’t been all that bad.
