The part, to me, that sucks is that Fox gets all the hype races. LA, Daytona, North Wilkesboro, the Throwback Race, the 600. They got all the experimental weeknight races during the pandemic.
Which is frustrating when they cover the sport like a cartoon, vs. NBC which makes special events feel larger than life.
NBC has been deprived of the Firecracker 400 and the Brickyard 400. The only major events they have anymore are the Southern 500, which should have remained the throwback race, and the championship at Phoenix (which has been a horrible bore since leaving Homestead).
By the time NBC takes over in June, all the momentum is dead. And by the way, NBC pays more for less.
If Fox was as good as they were in the 2000s, it’d be one thing. But they’re not.
Hopefully they make wholesale changes soon.
