Nice to see Greenfield locked in.
He's exactly what NASCAR needs. He's relatable, funny and loves this sportI'm not a fan of the Cleetus stuff. Feels silly to me.
But let's go Tony!
Dude bet it all and survived the darkest hoursDammit. that sucked. Big cleetus mcfarland fan here. Been watching his channel since 2017.
Two starts here, and has he completed 20 laps? He's exactly what NASCAR needs. He's relatable, funny and loves this sport
What's your point here? The guy doesn't even have late model experience so he's learning the hard way. His interview was refreshing and he was his own worst critic. Two starts here, and has he completed 20 laps?
Then maybe that's the level he should be learning at.The guy doesn't even have late model experience so he's learning the hard way
He passed the test at Rockingham and was approved. What's your comment on Garcia who ran over Stewart? His personality, blue collar work ethic and brutal honesty is EXACTLY what NASCAR needs, This was his first Truck race at Daytona so your comparison to Deegan doesn't hold water. Then maybe that's the level he should be learning at.
My point is he's the new Hallie Deegan. That's NOT exactly what NASCAR needs.
I have none, since you didn't claim he's what NASCAR needs. What's your comment on Garcia who ran over Stewart?
Sure it does. Neither of them would have rides if they weren't all over social media. They aren't building fans of the sport, they’re building fans of themselves. This was his first Truck race at Daytona so your comparison to Deegan doesn't hold water.
You couldn't be more wrong, he IS bringing eyes to the sport, to deny that is short sighted. Pun intended.Sure it does. Neither of them would have rides if they weren't all over social media. They aren't building fans of the sport, they’re building fans of themselves.
I have nothing against either, but the skills aren't there. Build them first and then maybe either would be what motorsports needs.
And how many kept watching after his interview? Is he bring eyes to the sport or to him?You couldn't be more wrong, he IS bringing eyes to the sport, to deny that is short sighted. Pun intended.
But Garcia has tons of experience yet he let his truck get away from him. You think he needs to go back to late models lolI have none, since you didn't claim he's what NASCAR needs.
You tell me? What if they liked what they saw? Quit being so crankyAnd how many kept watching after his interview?
He has 4.6 Million subscribers and loves this sport, if you don't think that's bringing eyes to NASCAR I cant help youAnd how many kept watching after his interview? Is he bring eyes to the sport or to him?
You're right, though, he's not the new Deegan, he's the new Pastrana. Everything you're saying was said about Pastrana bringing X Games viewers. We've seen how much of a bump they were.
Yep I'll have to go with stupid stuff some fans say for 500. Has no clue who Cleetus represents. Grandpa needs to go to bed.He has 4.6 Million subscribers and loves this sport, if you don't think that's bringing eyes to NASCAR I cant help you
Lol. he owns a very nice racetrack in Florida, fills it frequently with fans. Stewart, Hocevar, Biffle some Indy drivers, celebrities and many others race there and have a ball.Sure it does. Neither of them would have rides if they weren't all over social media. They aren't building fans of the sport, they’re building fans of themselves.
I have nothing against either, but the skills aren't there yet. Build them first and then maybe either would be what motorsports needs.
I 'll say this then let it go, McFarland took a race track in Bradenton FL that was closed and left for dead and revived it and sells it out almost every weekend, not for himself but for the people who love racing and he put it all on the line to get it done. That my friend is not being selfish or trying to boost his ego, he did it because he cares about the sport and gave the people what they wanted. I don't think you know who this guy really is, sure he uses Social Media to bring attention to the sport he loves, he doesn't do it for clicks and likes, he truly wants NASCAR to survive so if part of his plan is to use every avenue he can to make it work, then I don't see a problem with that. Ms Deegan was all in it for herself, big difference between the two. Have a good nightSure it does. Neither of them would have rides if they weren't all over social media. They aren't building fans of the sport, they’re building fans of themselves.

Hell the 4.6 million are PAID subscribers, he has millions more that are just followers of his content.Yep I'll have to go with stupid stuff some fans say for 500. Has no clue who Cleetus represents. Grandpa needs to go to bed.
Quite probably true, although I have neither children nor grandchildren. 'Geezer', 'Boomer', 'Fossil', or 'Old Fart' would have been more accurate.Grandpa needs to go to bed.
Nope, but that's no different from my off-track knowledge of other drivers. What little I know about their fan bases is what I've picked up from race broadcasts and here.Has no clue who Cleetus represents.
Yeah, I could have phrased that point better. I did NOT mean to imply he's being selfish or egotistical. I do not doubt his sincerity. I meant his brief presence last night had more positive effect on his popularity than it did for NASCAR's long-term relationship with his fans. I'm not saying that was his intention.
Let's get back to my original point. I'm cynical; posts like this remind me of similar ones over the decades saying a variety of new attractions were going to be great for NASCAR. Danica Patrick was touted as a boost to the sport's popularity. I read much about Travis Pastrana bringing his extreme sports fan base. Monster Energy's sponsorship was expected to bring huge numbers of young folks from its other sponsorships. He's exactly what NASCAR needs. He's relatable, funny and loves this sport

FWIW, I agree with @jaqua19.1 and @Charlie Spencer here. Cleetus, Travis Pastrana, and Hallie Deegan too for that matter, make Nascar look like a carnival promoter. The big build up for a guy that likes racecars towing trailers, or a guy that jumps out of an airplane without a parachute... these Youtube stunters give Nascar a carni vibe and it's not a good look. JMO.My point is he's the new Hallie Deegan. That's NOT exactly what NASCAR needs.
Its been going on for a long time, all the way back to Marty Robbins. NASCAR is a show, always has been ,always will be. The racing still goes on.FWIW, I agree with @jaqua19.1 and @Charlie Spencer here. Cleetus, Travis Pastrana, and Hallie Deegan too for that matter, make Nascar look like a carnival promoter.
