Good luck with that..Start up front, finish mid pack, start mid pack finish mid pack. If she wins...it will be on a plate track with a lot of luck involved, she's out classed anywhere else. Sorry, but that's the cold hard truth. With the resources she has behind her, she should be challenging for wins, Kyle Larson does, Austin Dillon can, not just running around with the back markers and underfunded teams. I would like to see her win, I really would, but the last thing she needs is to have a Derrick Cope moment and be a flash in the pan, but then again, if she wins, she'll always be able to say she won at the highest levels of the sport.
Do you really believe she has sufficient talent to beat any of the guys who have already won a race or the others who are consistently running up front? I mean, do you really? No offense, but I've always thought you were trolling from the start but I want to know if you're serious.Good post. I want to see better races from her. Frustrates me! I'm such a fan and know the talent is in there! Maybe she needs to see a zen master or something. I think if she was aggressive in the right way we would see better finishes. She knows how to take care of car....
I do not want her to win one or two races...I want a female champ.
You're right. I was a little harsh with him I guess because of the way he entered the forum - I thought it was fake and I couldn't stand to read the posts. If you're a Danica fan, of course you should want her to win races and hope that she wins a championship. Nothing wrong with that.
If you're a Danica fan and you actually expect her to win Cup races and believe she can win a title, you're just not in touch with reality.

I guess I should say that I'm not against anybody being a fan of any driver.

Straight up, right now. Do you believe what you're saying? I seriously want to know. If you're legit, I'm sorry if I offended you.
Anyway, I personally believe she doesn't have the talent needed to compete at the top level. I also don't think she'd be competitive in Nationwide.
Perhaps if she'd had great mentors along the way and more preparation for this stock car stuff, things might've been different.
Maybe the bigger percentage of talent of something is innate, and she just wasn't born with it. Or the ability to learn it well.
Ok, that's all.
I agreed with your post 100%, I was just kind of adding to it. I applaud him for sticking with his driver, but if he really believes some of the stuff he says, he's a little crazy
She did well and set a record. The first woman to finish less than three laps down in a cup race at Texas. Bettering her previous record of less than four laps set last year, she took advantage of a wave around to reclaim one of three she lost under green. She’s learning.
Well done.
Im NOT trolling at ALL. I have followed DP from her Indy days and seen flashes of the driver she can be. I believe she can be successful in cup but I'm gonna acknowledge its been a struggle. I wish she was doing better!
I dont agree she was not born with it-she was racing at a young age and has continued to do so. She will have cup success I believe. I really do in my heart of hearts. I
I believe she can compete up front. She has had a series of set backs and a bad year or so yes. All drivers do. I mean There are ALOT of drivers who go a long time between wins. Look at JR.
In sum, I TRULY believe what I am saying. I know that there will be others who disagree with my opinions on DP, but I stand by them.
You've been following her for over a decade and she has only had a bad year or so?
SHR as a whole did not do well at Texas.
Well Harvick's car blew up, otherwise he probably finishes in the top ten. Stewart was fast.
Its not about one race, DP is the fourth driver on the team by a wide margin and brings the team down much like her boyfriend does at Roush.
DP takes care of her equipment ( har har) so she keeps the car running....
her teammates aren't....(eg harvick)
...I would love to see her say f*ck it and be aggressive; forget about playing it safe and learning lessons or whatever....
lol Harvick has a win and has been very competitive.
Perhaps Danica needs to start pushing herself outside of her comfort zone instead of just riding the race out.
It looks to me like all she's trying to do is bring the car home in one piece no matter how many laps down she is each week, so her fans can say Danica has finished every race since bla bla bla, as if that's really an accomplishment.
The 10 team is not running on a shoe string budget. They can afford to fix her cars is she wads it up once in a while.
you know I actually agree I wish she would be more agressive..I do like she can take care of a car ...much better than last year but would rather top 5s or wins.
I was agreeing with most of your post until you made the comment that she is afraid to go fast. She proved beyond a shadow of doubt in Indy car that she is not afraid to go fast. Those cars are traveling at much higher speeds and on the edge of disaster all the time, and when things go bad they go bad fast with much more of a chance for serious injury or death. A cup car is much safer to drive now days and i don't think she is afraid to go fast. She just seems to have a problem of figuring out how to make the car go fast. She "takes care of her car" yet she wrecked how many last year? Didn't she trash more cars than any other full-time driver?
I would love to see her say f*ck it and be aggressive; forget about playing it safe and learning lessons or whatever. With the equipment she has, she is easily capable of some good finishes if she wasn't afraid of going fast.
But most everyone on here usually likes to talk about how easy open-wheel cars are to drive. That and how boring it is.She proved beyond a shadow of doubt in Indy car that she is not afraid to go fast. I'm not one of them. They are two different animals that takes a lot of skill... one takes finesse and patience, and the other takes more of an aggressive style of driving and strength. But, neither one is boring to me.But most everyone on here usually likes to talk about how easy open-wheel cars are to drive. That and how boring it is.

After listening to her radio in Texas I truly believe she does not know how to tell her CC what the car is doing or what she needs.Plus she babbles for so long that I think he's tired of hearing her talk.I had to skip her channel sometimes just so I could hear others talking.
Yep.All she kept during practice and the race was"my car is raising up over the bumps" and in the corners it was loose, tight and over rotating all at the same time.I don't think she has a clue right now. She also has trouble running a consistent line, which makes it near impossible to diagnose the car.
