Been working on alot of scatter-brained projects, plus the whole Arizona/California trip. My brain/thought bubbles resemble scrambled eggs at times.

I was able to fix the fueling issue by using a 92-00 C2500/C3500 fuel neck. It's 5" shorter than the stock one. I got a molded 60 degree 2" hose that I cut way down to fit on it, a 2" to 1.5" reducer, then the 1.5" hose with the anti-splash valve in it. Now the fuel filler runs downhill as it properly should.

Parts list:

Spectra Premium FN724 Fuel Tank Filler Neck

2" ID x 60 Degree Fuel Filler Hose

1-1/2" to 2" OD Hose Reducer Coupler

Spectra Premium FNH167 Fuel Filler Hose

Fuel Filler Neck Inlet Check Valve - 1-1/2" Hose

I also found a nifty double battery box for the trailer - that way I can fit a decent size battery, plus the winch controller and solenoid inside.

Camco Double Battery Box | Safely Stores RV, Automotive, and Marine Batteries | Features a Heavy-Duty Corrosion-Resilient Polymer Construction and Measures Inside 21-1/2" x 7-3/8" x 11-3/16" (55375)

Watch the last video here if you want to know what it looks like to be at the top end of the racetrack when chutes are out...almost had a really bad accident happen. Another racer's (pair after us) parachute caught on both our car and the guy that we raced, and tore his parachute.

It was a tough weekend.

Q1 was cloudy but warm-ish. Track temp of 82. Not much of a wind. Went 6.20

Q2 was dark and very cold. Track temp of 75, and a little bit of crosswind. Went 6.16

Q3 was FRIGID on Saturday morning. Air temp was 50. Track temp was 70 in the warmest spot I could find after the burnout. Significant crosswind. Went 6.06

E1 was still cold. Air temp 55 degrees. Track temp 72. Diagonal Cross/Tail wind. Dad lifted at 5.80 seconds and went 6.092 on a 6.10 dial. The other guy heard dad lift and also lifted, to go 7.03 on a 6.97 dial. Dad got there by 0.07 of a second breaking out by 0.008 of a second.

Then the parachute incident happened.

That would have been bad if it had hooked the header.

@Nitro Dude It barely missed snagging ours, it caught on the left parachute pack (not deployed) and slid off and the tire pushed it around the headers.

But Bryan in front of us has wide downswepts (narrow hard tail car) and the chute hooked his left collector and tore the chute up pretty good and bent the collector a little. Luckily Bryan's car didn't roll into Wayne's - Bryan was in the car and hit the brake when it tugged.

So, there's some news coming out of our camp. Last weekend was a little more than a little chaotic - replaced the transmission between first and second rounds, and rear gear between second and third rounds.

But, uhm....there's a few parts missing this week.

Dragster sold last month, went to Mississippi. The engine was picked up last weekend and went to Tucson.

Bought the new toy last night. Needs alot of TLC; we won't get it for 4-5 weeks probably then it will be 2 or 3 months before it sees the sun.

The shop we're buying it from got the old nitrous engine out. Most of the body has been prepped for paint. Dad has already started buying parts we need for it.

Hopefully it'll be at our shop before I leave for Rocky Mountain Race Week, but there's also a fair chance it won't be. Depends on how long it takes to go through the paint booth. The shop it's at isn't exactly fast, and the body is in really rough shape, so they're spending extra time fixing issues along the way.

Dad swung by the other shop and got a fresh look at everything. It needs alot more help than we thought. They've had to do alot of sanding and bondo on the body. There's plumbing issues we'll need to address and we'll definitely have to pressure wash the entire chassis after we strip all the electrical off it. We're probably overpaying a bit for what we are getting, but at the time time there's only maybe 70-80 of these in the United States and at best, 30-40 more oveseas (mostly Australia). They were only built for a 4-5 year span and this one is not a "name brand" chassis builder, so it's about half the price of a name brand.
