You see the title....Go!

Best: Jimmie/Chad (duh)
Worst: Kurt/Knost (A rookie for Kurt? Seriously? Who the hell thought that up?)

I'll ignore the best combo, because we all know who they are.

Jeff Gordon / Alan Gustafson.

Let's go for second place in the Best category---Kes/Wolfe

Some old great ones:

-Richard Petty/ Dale Inman
-Bobby Isaac / Harry Hyde
-Tim Richmond/ Harry Hyde
-Dale Earnhardt/ Kirk Shelmerdine
-David Pearson/ Len Wood (1973, 61 win percentage)
-Darrell Waltrip/ Jeff Hammond (1982, 40 win percentage).

Larry MacReynolds and Dale Earnhardt never really clicked in my opinion.

But Larry Mac and Davey Allison was great together.

I can't even imagine the numbers Pearson would have put up if he ran full season all those years. 105 wins in 574 starts is the best ever. If he had run for the championship every year, Petty would have been lucky to win 4 championships.

Larry Mac and Ernie Irvan seemed even better. Even though they only had about half a season together, the 28 car was kicking some serious ass before Ernie's crash at Michigan. Hadn't really ever seen that kind of performance from the 28 with Davey.
Even with the short season Larry Mac and Ernie had together, the 28 car led the most laps for the entire season that year.

If they would've had the entire season together, I think Ernie would have 1 championship and Dale would have 6.

Was that the race Ratcliff said he was throwing in the towel on making adjustments? That showed a major flaw in Jason. We know Matt wasn't giving up.

That was the one, all the Gibbs cars were poor that day but the 20 was pathetic. They worked all weekend to make the 20 right but it looked like there was no helping it too me. Matt demands a perfect car and he had that enough to win 7 races. I dont believe that he is as great a driver as some folks do. Just my opinion

Correction... I think 3 of those races were won on pit strategy :D ... and I agree about Matt but we won't get into that... that's a whole other can of worms lol

If Kyle Busch doesn't seriously contend for a title this year, I'm convinced that the crew chief (Rogers?) is the problem.

Kyle has been thru plenty of cup CC's already and still no cup championship.

He won 8 races his first year with Addington and was leading the points before the Chase that year. Rogers has been the only CC since Addington, and I just don't think he's very good.

Yeeeah because Addington went on to do such great things with Kurt and Tony right? .. the same Addington that's had 3 jobs in 3 years? Does he even have a job anymore?

So you're saying that Kyle was good enough to be dominant in spite of Addington?

Im saying Kyle is a dick and it doesn't matter who his CC is... he needs to get a grip before he will be a champion. He's too edgy... too pig headed... he needs to come down to earth .. he has seemed better lately but I still don't know if he'll contend.. he's definitely a top 5 driver.. but that's looong way from champion.

Btw as for the thread topic... obviously JJ/Knaus... BK/Wolfe are good matchups.. Im going to have to say one of the worst Ive seen was Joey and Greg Zippadelli.

Which is exactly why he needs a crew chief who can handle him and help keep him in line. He's not the overemotional punk he was when he drove for Hendrick; I think at this point he is mature enough to keep his emotions under control and contend for a championship. His crew chief will be the only limiting factor.

I disagree.. Kyle is always fast... when he doesn't finish well its because he's being a dick lol he needs to learn to be as conservative as his CC and then maybe he could contend.

Conservative wont get it done Sliced. Rogers needs to take some chances once in a while, kind of like wolfe and Brad do
