Best and Worst Driver Crew Chief Pairing

Rogers might be a great CC, who really knows. No matter what you think about Rogers, on the surface Busch/Rogers just seems like a bad pairing. If Busch doesn't contend for a title this year, time to switch things up.

Most likely Rogers will be around for a long time :(
Kyle and Rogers spend a great deal of time engaging in "pissing" matches about what the car needs and the teams performance suffers IMO

Perhaps Kyles meds need switching. He did better this year, but he is meltdown central year after year.

And I would argue the exact opposite to the Kenseth haters. Yes, he had a great season with Ratcliffe at JGR last year, but he has had success with multiple crew chiefs and does have a Cup championship. He's a very good driver, the "just because of the crew chief" argument really doesn't apply to him, IMO.

Yeah, I think Hendrick made the right call to give him the boot. Kyle's attitude and immaturity didn't mesh with the organization, and despite his obvious talent, wasn't worth the headaches. I think he knew Kyle wouldn't be a champion unless he got his head on straight. Who knows if he ever will.

That being said, he's still driving equipment that should theoretically put him into position to win titles. Gibbs needs to find a CC that works better with Kyle. Tough task yes, but there has to be somebody that can keep Kyle's emotions under control. I think part of the problem is that Kyle doesn't trust or respect Rogers.

I think Joe Gibbs needs to follow through with what he almost did in 2012 and can his ass, that'll be a wake up call and turn him around or most likely cause him to completely self destruct for good.

The problem.. IMO... is that Kyle is aggressive and his CC isn't.. maybe he does need to be more aggressive but the CC knows he can't be the fastest every lap.. Kyle seems to need a car that is leading in order to be happy with it... if you always set up the car to run out front... then ur gona have some issues when ur not... which is when Kyle gets stupid.

IDK. Once again, I'm holding out hope beyond all reason, but Kyle did real well this year.

"Kyle is aggressive and his CC isn't." I totally agree with that part of your post Sliced. I dont agree with the "stupid" part though. Kyle is obviously a high strung competitive guy that for the most part seems to know what his car needs to get the job done. His crew chief argues with him and everyone ends up mad. If they could find a way to prevent this from happening things would be fine. Judging by the amount of races that Kyle wins in the other series plus the fact that many of the other drivers have had him drive their cars to set them up (including Joey) Kyle must know whats up.

I think Adam Stevens should come up to cup... the guy got Joey 9 wins in 2012 and Kyle all those wins in 2013. He's clearly the best CC on the NNS side and Im not sure why JGR hasn't brought him up yet.

I think Jeremy Bullins was the best NW cc last year.

If Kyle wasnt such a nice person Im betting Rogers would be down the trail. Loyalty Is a wonderful trait in my book but sometimes it hold a person back

As bonehead as Alan is I'd take him over Letarte.

Gordon went through 2 seasons without winning a single race under Steve. That is ridiculous when you have someone like Gordon driving for you.

I'd say the driver who finished highest in the standings..... with the most wins(in the series they actually run for points in) would be considered the best one....

Wins are nice but the point of the season is to take home the cup... he couldn't even do that in NNS let alone the series that matters :p That'd be my team :D

Kyle has a NW championship Sliced. Kenseth totally blew the whole years accomplishments in one race, he cant hang with Mr Busch. Only reason Kyle didnt win the owners championship last year was the people that Gibbs put in the car when Kyle wasnt in it.

LOL Whatever... did you forget he even wrecked Brad on purpose and STILL lost the championship?... Kenseth didn't blow it.. Ratcliffe did.... which reminds me... were kind of getting off topic lol

Matt Kenseth is his best driver for sure right now. We're talking Cup not the minor leagues.

He finished a handful of points ahead of Kyle last year in cup and won one Nationwide race. Not that impressive to me. Watching him drive a NW car is a hoot

Me too. The Richmond race in 2012 proved to me that Alan is a good CC. I'm hoping this is the year they finally get everything figured out. Can't afford a slow start for a third year in a row.
