BREAKING NEWS: DALE JR OUT AT CHARLOTTE

Damn dude, I thought this was a joke, till you posted the link. Wow. Hard to believe that RG3 gets to play this weekend even though he didn't know where and what was going on after the hit he took Sunday.

This is kinda hard to believe after seeing the interview he gave. He really seemed to be Dale, Not, Dale I don't know where the heck I am Dale.

Or is this what Dale gets after saying "I'm not looking foward to Daytona and Talladega next year".

RPR sucks ass, and Dale called out NASCAR on the BS they sell to fans. GOOD FOR YOU DALE!

My head is spinning right now.

I've had my bell rung a few times, the first reaction is "I'm alright", then after a bit the headache, blurred vision, unsteady gait set in. Good to see he has enough sense to say he needs out and not endanger others on the track.

Funny story: My wife watched the after Dega interview with JR. She said "Jr's going to do something to make NASCAR do something about it."

I scoffed at the idea that Jr was that powerful.

Maybe just Maybe Jr is a master politician, and it's now Brian vs JR.

His daddy was good at this type of thing. And Jr is good too.

Im not saying this is true. I just think it's kinda weird that he throws NASCAR under the bus for the race being so bad, and now he's not racing, for two weeks?

RG3 gets hit so hard he doesn't know what way is up, and he gets to play this weekend.

I feel like Im in the twilight zone.

The last time an Earnhardt did not start a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race -- you have to go back to Darlington on September 3, 1979.

Now you don't have to look it up because I already did.

Also this isn't his first concussion either. He sustained a concussion in 2002 after a crash at Fontana. Gonna be a lot of disappointed fans the next two weeks. Hopefully he's cleared to race soon. Hate to see this.

Bob Dillner saying James Finch is trying to get AJ Allmendinger to race the #51 since Regan Smith is subbing for Junyer.

I'm really pulling for Regan Smith to make something happen this weekend.

I sometimes wonder if na$car would be this messed up if Sr was around. I was very disappointed when rusty, gordon, etc didn't step up but let na$car roll over them.
But that's another story.

Ha. I love it. This is how I imagine this went down.

Jr walks into Brians office and says "Look Dick, we need to figure this whole plate thing out."

Brian says "Just go and drive and let me handle the rest"

Jr says "That's not gonna work, something needs to change"

Brian says "F*** You"

Jr says "NO, F*** You"

And Kansas ticket sales fall into the cellar.

It would be different for sure. Earnhardt would've told NASCAR, in typical Earnhardt fashion, where to shove all their rules changes.

Head injuries are a very big deal, enough of them will do pemanant damage.
How will Nascar react is a good question.

Im not for concussions, but this is the best thing to happen to the Dinger in a long time.

I wonder about that myself.
Even if Nascar has the abilty to tell most drivers we don't need you, Dale JR. is not one of them.

And yesterday was Jr's B-Day.

I wonder how NASCAR headquarters is handling this.

They probably have Bruton on hold.

Good thing the Big One happened at Dega. So many people would have been so disappointed had it not happened.

Casual fans, I wish they would all die.

I wonder if the Kansas ticket office will refund money to Jr fans?

I wonder what their ticket sales look like. This reminds me of the South Boston 300 when it was announced Philip Morris would not race -- the track lowered general admission prices to $10.

This could be the first race at Charlotte with nobody in the field from North Carolina.

Junyer is the second driver to miss races this year due to injuries at Talladega. Eric McClure was injured in an accident in the Nationwide race earlier this year.

While racing is inherently dangerous, restrictor plate racing has proven to be more dangerous.

In the end after all the hype and BS Dale jr. is just a race car driver. A rich well known and popular one for sure but still just a race car driver. The past few years when he was running in the back, missing the chase and not only not winning but running mostly in the twentys the world continued to spin, the races continued to run, I continued to watch and enjoy them and so did all of the race fans I know and nothing will change if he not only misses two races but if he has to quit driving a race car. A hand full of doomsday naysayers will scream and cry like they do about all tracks and all things racing but I just grin and enjoy the races. A footnote is every Dale JR fan I know and the ones in the stands with his gear on all pulled for another driver when he was not in contention for a win or wasnt racing hard.

On ESPN SportsCenter just now, Ricky Craven said he wouldn't be surprised if Junyer sat out the remainder of the season.

Brian France would have to be put on suicide watch.

Johali, I agree with you. The races will go on.
I'm glad Dale is taking time off to heal properly. His health is more important than a race, or even a championship.

The races will go on? What in tarnation are you talking about.

I can't believe that people would even mention such a notion that Dale Jr is NASCAR.

Of course it will go on, who even attempted to say it wouldn't?
