BREAKING NEWS: DALE JR OUT AT CHARLOTTE

On ESPN SportsCenter just now, Ricky Craven said he wouldn't be surprised if Junyer sat out the remainder of the season.

Brian France would have to be put on suicide watch.

ESPN and NASCAR would get a real taste of what ratings would be.

I think it would be hilarious if the ratings took a dive, and the networks started to get at Brian about not wanting to pay what he wants. Take it Brian! YEAH!

The races will go on? What in tarnation are you talking about.

I can't believe that people would even mention such a notion that Dale Jr is NASCAR.

Of course it will go on, who even attempted to say it wouldn't?

MOEJOE, what I'm saying is that the world won't stop turning and the sun will still come up. No one here is suggesting that races would NOT be run. Don't know where you got that idea.

Twitter is full of it, I read you wrong I guess. Some on twitter are saying they only watch because of Dale Jr.

I say to hell with you Casual fan.

These next couple weeks sure are going to be a test to see how many casual fans there are.

I think viewer ratings will drop, but at a very small margin.

I can't stop thinking about the crazy crap that Rick and Jr could be trying. On an imaginary level here.

A. They want a piece of the action from Brian, and Brian isn't giving in easily

B. Jr really wants Dega racing to change.

C. He actually has a concussion

D. He needed an excuse to get married to that sexy lady that he's been dating. She probably wants to get married somewhere exotic like machu picchu, and she told him if he wasn't leading the points by this time of the year then they would go.

It's raining like heck here, and my leg is killing me. I have nothing better to do.

Back in 1999, and up to when Senior died, Nascar let Dale race when he was blacking out and a danger to himself and other drivers. Sadly he died IMO of heart failure at Daytona. Nascar had the results covered up and said he died of injuries suffered in wreck. It is my opinion he died of a heart attack when he got bumped because in slow motion you can see the steering wheel was never turned to correct the spin. Knowing Dale, he would have been fighting that spin with all he had if he had been alive at the time. Remind you that this is not just my opinion but many people think the same. I have the video in slow motion.

Wow...what a story this is....I see in the "crystal ball" big changes for plate racing and dega...what those will be I am not sure...but they will happen!

I don't know if I ever recall a guy having to sit out two races for a concussion....kinda strange..

Joe are you off your meds this morning?? ;)

I'm not a doc or have stayed in a H0liday Inn lately but I don't think it's up to the driver to say he's ok, put me in coach. After you're out you need medical clearence to return.
Didn't they institute a program where all drivers were tested/screened/evaluated several years ago to establish a base line so that any head injury could be properly evaluated?

I believe you are right. In fact that policy came about after Jr. and several others had head injuries, some of them career ending. Ernie Irvan and Jerry Nadau come to mind.

Ricky Craven still shows signs of his head injuries also.

Ratings have been dropping gradually for a while already.

Uh oh.... Looks like that Kansas tire testing is more brutal than that pack racing at Dega'. So is everybody gonna suggest no more 1.5 mile tracks? Of course not cause Talladega is an easy target.

He had a really bad wreck at Dega.

Short tracks are so much better.

Thankfully we haven't had any deaths in the big 3 nascar series since dale sr but there have been deaths at short tracks as well. Racing is always going to be dangerous no matter how many safety improvements they make but thankfully the mandating of wearing a hans device and safety barriers have saved a bunch of lives over the years. It's scary to think about how many drivers we would have most likely lost if it wasn't for those 2 major improvements.

If I was in Jr's shoes and really wanted to send a message to nascar. I'd start the Daytona 500 next year and park after 1 lap That would send nascar the message!

And at the same time he'd look like a little bitch that screwed his fans out of the ticket they paid for to come see the race. Genius.

Wow, MoeJoe, you're missing the most obvious explaination.

Dustin Long@dustinlong
#NASCAR official says they'll leave it up to Dr. Petty, neurosurgeon, "to make final decision on when Dale Jr. can be back in the race car.'

Dr. Petty...Dr. Petty

This is clearly a case of the Petty clan coming together to pressure Chevrolet into giving RPM a good contract.

I'm sure RPM will have that sweet Chevy contract soon.;)

It was in front of me the whole time, how did I miss it. :moon:

Imagine if Jr was in the point lead right now?
I would imagine he wouldn't be going on vacation. I mean taking time off for the concussion.

I don't understand how it is a concussion. He said there are no signs of swelling, and no amnesia. Im no Doctor, but JR is playing sick.

Going to get married in a secret location. All the reporters will be busy during the chase. Think about it.

I think that for the first time in his life, Jr is pusssy whipped and doesn't know the symptoms.
