I didn't mean I'm against it, just that I hate losing a second normal Bristol race no matter the reason. It could still be worthwhile and I will give it a chance. Don't have to hate it to be sad about losing something you love. The dirt could still be awesome.Oh ok, count one for the take that dirt and shove it crowd.
****** Camaro 3.0. Knew they were up to something. Damn it!
Glad they like it. They can keep it.
The cool temperature should keep the track from drying out so much so the visibility should be much better, I hope.Dirt's fine. It's the side effects I don't like:
I can live with the last one. The middle one makes it very difficult to enjoy this, and I wonder how Fox will react to a second serving. The first is a violation of the laws of nature.
- Losing 250 laps of short track racing
- Losing the view of what's happening
- Losing competitive pit stops
As a fan, I don't see this event as being worth those trade-offs. SMI obviously feels otherwise.
Be happy. When short track racing bombs, they blame the car, now at least they have the dirt to complain about. We should have.......3 Bristol races! 2 paved and 1 dirt. Everyone wins, next topic......
Let’s hope so. I don’t know enough about dirt tracks to speculate. The cool temperature should keep the track from drying out so much so the visibility should be much better, I hope.
The track is going to dry out. Between the race being ran in the evening/night and learning some things from last year, the dust shouldn't be near as bad as last year.Let’s hope so. I don’t know enough about dirt tracks to speculate.
Better than nothing.I hope there is some lead changes this week ,along with some success by the pavement-only guys.Glad they like it. They can keep it.
eh, the pits will be pavement won't help with their speeding though lol.Lets run half track dirt and half track concrete!
They hate it and wont be watching but they will complain about everything that happens after.eh, the pits will be pavement won't help with their speeding though lol.
They are going to have heats and the scoring that goes with that, passing points, deductions etc. It will be fun to watch heads explode about that. It's a proven winner lol.
That sums up how I feel about Bristol Dirt. also, will this be another shifting event? I hope not. but probably?
Unfortunately, fans were not coming out to the spring race.Yep, by whatever good race/race rating metric you want to use, paved Bristol events are usually still the most favored races among fans. I hope it’s a barnburner this weekend but they’re awfully big shoes to fill.
Last year among our very own race ratings the fall Bristol race was #1, the 2020 races were #1 and #6. In the Gluck poll, paved Bristol races take the top three spots and four of the top six.
Paint schemes would indicate this was 2021 / COVID. Still, I recall 2019 was only around 60% or so.Unfortunately, fans were not coming out to the spring race.
I was wondering about that. And I just learned Josh Williams the driver and Josh Williams the spotter are not the same person...
Yeah my thought was ok who is spotting for BlaneyI was wondering about that.
"Inside ... Still inside ... Damn it, I'm still down here!!"Yeah my thought was ok who is spotting for Blaney
2019 post #67 was from an article written in 2019 alsoPaint schemes would indicate this was 2021 / COVID. Still, I recall 2019 was only around 60% or so.
I think we can beat the Atlanta whine athon. Hope springs eternal lol. They hate it and wont be watching but they will complain about everything that happens after.
Oh God no!I think we can beat the Atlanta whine athon. Hope springs eternal lol.
Dirt in the corners, concrete straightaways.Lets run half track dirt and half track concrete!
Dirt straights, 1/2 concrete, 1/2 ashphalt for turns, all PJ1. Speed bumps halfway down straights.Dirt in the corners, concrete straightaways...
